So now Lori Alexander of The Transformed Wife has added travel into her list of things she thinks that feminists do to avoid being home. She claims that education, working and traveling are really boring and tedious, but being home is the awesome sauce with no boredom.
What is Lori basing her claims? On her own very limited experiences, her college years, her few scant summers waitressing and few years teaching. There is nothing scientific in her methods, itβs all βItβs true for me so itβs true for everyone.β
Why did Lori decide traveling was so evil? I donβt know except to say she was recently traveling during her motherβs final days so there is that negative connotation. But, knowing how petty and venial Lori comes across as I have to guess itβs a direct swipe at some other blogger she disagrees with. Maybe even a reaction to NLQ sharing and laughing over the silliness of her secular fan A Lady of Reasonβs claiming that the world is a very super dangerous place. Who knows with Lori.
Notice how Lori is setting up home as a boringness you must learn to be content about before proclaiming it is the BEST PLACE EVER~~~~~
Hereβs the thing, every occupation you can imagine has boring moments. Even travel. Ever been stuck for hours in an airport terminal? Boring. All jobs have tasks that are boring. Same with school, there are tons of rote learning and assignments that you donβt want to do. Same with housework. Doing dishes and folding clothes are so mind numbingly boring that I usually watch the news while Iβm doing it. I multitask. Which is how adults can handle boredom. Do something that makes the boring marginally less boring, like listening to a podcast while filing paperwork, or taking a mental vacation while doing rote tasks. A rich imagination can get you through any boring lecture.
Hereβs what they donβt do. Try to surpress each and every other option while ordering you to be content. You know where you can stuff that faked happiness.
If you think this is bad just stay tuned. Sheβs sharing from white surpremacy guys yet again.
