Questioning Nominee Brett Kavanaugh is the Same as Gang Raping Him? October 3, 2018

I never know what I’m going to see when I pull up the blog of pastor Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog. He might be using crazy food metaphors to support his racism, or making statements on how unrelated women and men having a friendly lunch together is some sort of grand seduction. I know it will always be silly, filled with big words and very verbose in the dumbest way. Whatever it is it’s clear that Doug is either mentally deranged, or a provocateur or extremely sheltered.Β  Today he is claiming that questioning nominee Brett Kavanaugh is the same as gang raping him?

Say what? Apparently he thinks that even entertaining the idea of questioning Judge Kavanaugh is somehow harming him. Wake up and smell the latte, dude, this is exactly what Supreme Court Nominations are supposed to do. Cover all aspects of the candidate, warts, pimples and all, to determine if this person is suitable for the Supreme Court.

There is no presumption of innocence because it’s not a trial, it’s essentially a job interview, an important job interview for one of the highest positions in the land. In all job interviews there is a responsibility to screen the applicant, even if it upsets them.

No, Doug. What happened to Kavanaugh wasn’t even close to a groping, much less a gang bang, something it is rumored that Kavanaugh has participated in. I watched that same questioning you did and came away shocked at how emotional and whiny the nominee is. Not judicial at all.

There’s a lot more to why Kavanaugh is not a good candidate for the highest court of the land that is not even being mentioned by the Doug Wilsons of this world. They portray him as a knight in shining white armor instead of a guy who has made some very questionable rulings involving race. Then there’s his possible financial chicanery. his role as a leaker of information during the Ken Starr hearings, and approval of waterboarding for George W. Bush. These are justΒ  a few of the reasons why putting him on the Supreme Court would be a disgrace before the drinking and sexual assault. Those are merely cherries on top of a nasty sundae.

Why are Doug et al so determined to push a bad candidate through by using any mud slinging method possible? Because of a case coming up before the Supreme Court this month that has to do with double jeopardy. It would remove the ability of states to prosecute cases against anyone pardoned of the same crime by the president in federal courts. They want Kavanaugh to help set up a mechanism that will allow the president to pardon his pals. It’s not about overturning Roe v. Wade. It’s just about protecting anyone prosecuted for helping game the 2016 election.

Doug goes on in the unquoted bits to make all sorts of crazy claims, such as that women saying that they believe Dr. Ford are guilty of gang raping Kavanaugh, that all womens claims must be immediately denied.

What does this say about Doug’s morals and his claims to follow Jesus? Not anything positive.
