Nancy Campbell’s Politics and Jesus

Nancy Campbell’s Politics and Jesus November 12, 2018

For the past week I’ve been cruising through the websites of our usual suspects, seeking to see if anyone mentioned the recent midterm elections. The manly men are silent, the women had nothing to say. Makes me wonder if they’ve had issues with being accused of promoting political agendas on their ministries. But not Nancy Campbell of Above Rubies. Nancy came right out with her thoughts on voting. Nancy Campbell’s politics and Jesus don’t seem to have anything in common.

Democrats?

So she voted against Democrats, even if the Republican candidates were not good. Voted party line. Unsurprising, this is what happens in Quiverfull. They vote completely against their self interest by voting Republican all down the lines. They vote for whomever the Intercessors For America voting guides tell them to vote for in those handouts passed out at churches. No pesky thinking required.

Deception?

I’m not sure what deception she’s voting against here. The deception of many of the political ads I saw on the only U.S. television stations I get here, the Miami stations, seems to be mostly on the Republican side, with them claiming things like one candidate was senile and another was linked to a Russian mobster. Saw very few deceptive attack ads from the Independents or the Democrats.

Distortion?

See above paragraph.

Dumbing Down?

How is wanting everyone to have health care, access to clean water, food and jobs somehow dumbing down our culture? Seems to me to be the very things that Jesus was for, not against.

Destruction of Life?

Funny how life is so precious to Nancy and pals as long as it’s in the womb, but the moment a baby is born they care nothing about protecting it. These are people who are rabidly pro death penalty, want to end things that support life, like food stamps, the school lunch program and any social security.

Demolishing ICE?

Nancy seems to be saying here she’s perfectly fine with holding small, frightened children in prison cells away from their parents. How very Jesus-like. I’m sure she’s believing that the now not mentioned Caravan is all evil criminal men instead of the utterly devastated desperate families fleeing violence and poverty. Remind me again, is there not several mentionsΒ  in the Bible about welcoming refugees as honored guests?

Devastation?

Again, Nancy is speaking of things that are so contrary to the core message of Jesus. She wantsΒ  to smash up the Affordable Care Act, stop immigration by claiming they are terrorists, and Muslims, Muslims, Muslims fear-mongering! Nancy forgets that ALL of the recent terror attacks carried out in our great nation are by white guys who are natural born Americans.
