Larry Solomon Says Boys Will Be Boys

Larry Solomon Says Boys Will Be Boys January 17, 2019

Surprise, surprise, Larry Solomon of Biblical Gender Roles is busy objecting to that Gillette ad I posted about yesterday. It’s not that Larry finds any of the males behaviors troubling, oh no. It’s more that Larry thinks that men should be aggressive, and macho, and physical. Larry is firmly in the β€˜broflake’ territory.

It’s one thing to be thrust into the position of defending yourself or someone else from a knife-wielding crazy, and everything else Larry might consider a β€˜threat’. Violence done in the heat of the moment is still violence and may NOT be right. Just ask your local law enforcement. Larry seems to think that the idea of a threat is a huge reality one must be on guard from all the time.Β  I’d say it’s rare and not at all what the commercial is talking about. Larry-spin.

Boys fighting is always wrong. You teach that violence is the way to solve issues. That the larger stronger boy is in charge. There is no good reason to allow boys to fight. It does not matter how the fight started.Β  The father did the right thing in shutting that down.

Clearly Larry does not realize that there are healthy ways to deal with aggression. If you have a son who shows tendencies that can be labeled β€˜male physical aggression’ there is no reason in this world that you cannot recognize this and sign him up for a sport. There’s Peewee Football, Little League, Jujitsu and the list of sports goes on. Channel that aggression elsewhere. Please do not allow him to beat up his brother or sister.

Larry claims these same sports are being condemned, but does not seem to realize that many of those same sports cause traumatic brain injury on the professional level. That is the issue why those sports are losing popularity, not the perceived violence. People are dying, that alone should be reason enough that the sports must change.

NO, Larry. NEVER do this! Please do not ask random women for their phone numbers. This is degrading on so many levels. It’s you being creepy, inappropriate and judging a woman on a strictly physical level. This is akin to walking into the butchers and buying the freshest steak based only on what you are seeing. How do you know you have anything in common? You don’t.

There is more that Larry is objecting to, but I do not have all day. Larry approves of β€˜mansplaing’ and thinks that boys will be boys is perfectly acceptable because it’s been going on for ages. He goes on to claim that the ad is an attack on masculinity and attacking masculinity is attacking God directly. I would hope God has more sense that to approach a strange woman and demand her phone number.

Also weakly masculine Doug Wilson is coming out swinging, shoving the word salad about how evil Gillette is. Wokescold is not a real word.
