Use Tablecloths, You Lazy Woman

Nancy Campbell of Above Rubies seems to be really, and I mean really, hung up on tables lately. Her blog is a free flowing river of photos of tables complete with tablecloths and fancy china while saying it’s Godly to always dress up your table. That’s when she’s not yammering about the wonderfulness of President Trump or his border wall. She thinks you should use tablecloths, you lazy woman!

Nowhere in the Bible does it conflate the dinner table like this. This is strictly Nancy’s own little extra Biblical bit. Thou shalt set thine table with a cloth and pretty dishes amen!

It’s not the table or tablecloth that makes the dinner memorable, it’s the people, the conversations, the love and togetherness. One of the best most memorable meals I’ve eaten has been tamales, rice and beans off a paper plate. There was no tablecloth, the hostess could not have afforded one. There were no candles, or china. It was humble, but it was the best of times.

Also, that wall you keep talking about isn’t going to affect immigration. Most of the illegal immigrants in the United States flew in under a tourist visa and simply stayed. Plus the last time I checked it is still legal to walk into the United States and claim political asylum.Β  None of these people came here illegally.

This is what happens when you are locked into a tight mindset. You think tablecloths are more important than people.
