God Didn’t Create it, so it Does Not Exist? May 15, 2019

Do you think that pastor Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog ever actually reads his Bible for understanding, with a mind towards reading comprehension? I have to ask this after seeing Doug’s claims about differing sexualities. He claims if God didn’t create it, it does not exist.

β€œGod did not create two men, and so homosexuality is excluded. He did not create Adam and three women, and so polygamy is excluded. A helper suitable to Adam was not found among the beasts, and so bestiality is excluded. He did not create two women, which rules out lesbianism. All such images would be caricatures of God and not, as He intended, the image of God Himself. In the image of God He created them, male and female created He them” (Mere Fundamentalism, pp. 37-38).

Not so fast there,Β  Hoss!

I’m reminded of this past week’s β€œGame of Thrones” where QueenΒ  Cersei Lannister said any number of insane things that were not based in reality. Like claiming her soldiers would fight to the death to protect her. That Euron Greyjoy would shoot down Dany’s lone dragon. She said them even as the Red Keep crumbled around her in denial of what was actually taking place around here.

Let’s look at the biggest glaring flaw in Doug’s demented ravings. That polygamy was not God-approved. For something that took place in the Bible again, and again, and again, without one mention of it being forbidden or approved of by God.

Mentions of homosexuality and bestiality in the Bible indeed. So much for them not being a thing all the way back then. Isn’t it King SolomonΒ  who says that there is nothing new under the sun, that it’s all been done before? For good, or bad, or indifference that applies to sexuality as well.

It’s just not as simple as God not creating it so it does not exist.

More theological Twister in Doug’s book, which makes it about as interesting as that awful romance novel of his.

So much of his writing makes no real sense.
