Sexual Spanking Fetishes and Evangelical Christianity?

Sexual Spanking Fetishes and Evangelical Christianity? September 28, 2019
Do not ever Google the words “Jesus” plus “spanking” if you value your own sanity.

We’ve covered the issues of child abuse and spanking/beating children for the last ten years, but rarely have we run across such a openly fetish-based sexual abuse of children being disguised as discipline. This goes way beyond any of the hideous ideas of one Michael Pearl of No Greater Joy and To Train Up A Child.

I hope this is some sort of prank or sick joke.

They call themselves the “Family Pro Spanking Workshop” and are on Facebook. It’s a closed group you need a membership for, and is run by a guy named Michael Miller. He has organized a four day workshop expressly to spank children. He sends out the agenda to anyone that joins and asks. The agenda includes activities like a five to ten minute spankathon with the children up to teenagers stripped from the waist down or totally nude! Clearly from looking at the agenda this is less about disciplining children than adults exercising a sexual fetish that has nothing to do with Jesus!

There are photos on their Facebook group of children nude from the waist down being spanked with a variety of implements, including one of Jesus spanking a small partially nude boy with a wooden paddle.

Several people, myself included, have reported the group and images to Facebook. Their only response was to say that the content and images do not violate their community standards. I guess Facebook sees nothing wrong with the sexual fetish-sizing of children as long as the fetish is wrapped in prayer. The event claims there will be prayer circles to pray over discipline.

Michael Miller, the head of all of this, claims to work as a screen writer for his own entertainment company, Family Horizons Entertainment. His page is filled with him befriending entertainment people, and references to his faith, nothing on his crazy ideas on spanking. Before someone accuses me of ‘doxxing’ Michael let me just say that if you click on ‘Admin’ for the group it leads straight to his profile and real name. Somehow I doubt his celeb friends know about his twisted little fetish.

Scariest of all, if you click on the links to his production company you see that Michael Miller does have access to children, even if he is unmarried. He has photos of the children he has worked with  up on Family Horizons Entertainment.

NLQ author and author of the book 13:24 – A Dark Thriller M. Dolon Hickmon posted about this group first, linking to the following YouTube video discussion of the spanking group. If there’s anything he is an expert on it’s religious child abuse. It features prominently in his novel, and he has experienced it first hand as a child.

Here’s the video:

This is all so sick. Sickest of all that Facebook allows this guy to flourish and promote his own sexual abuse of children. This is one of the worst things that Evangelical Christianity allows to flourish, the sexual abuse of children in the guise of discipline.

What is the MATTER with FB lately?? I can’t even..

That’s unbelievable and disgusting. Scotland has banned spanking by parents and Wales, where I am, is going to soon. I volunteer in a community cafe where local groups leave flyers and posters advertising local events. Tidying these up not long ago, there was one which said ‘Contact your MP about the proposed criminalisation of parents for spanking their children.’ My conscience just wouldn’t let me leave them there. I wasn’t brave enough to chuck them out in front of my fellow-volunteer, because our mission statement and council funding mean we must be totally inclusive of everyone in our community. And we stick to that ruling usually, but I confess I shovelled them into my apron pocket when my co-worker wasn’t looking…and check regularly to see they haven’t ever come back!

A Michael Miller in Ohio had a court case involving spanking: https://casetext.com/case/state-v-miller-unpublished-decision-9-22-2001

Michael Landon is the production company’s Facebook profile pic. Why. Just why.

  • Friend

I thought parents were supposed to sp@nk their children, promptly, for doing something wrong. What mischief will the moms and dads be pun1shing at the conference? Will there be cookie jars to ra1d, cats volunteer1ng to have their tails pulled, vaccinations on dem@nd…?

  • Suzanne Harper Titkemeyer

Because this is a guy desperate to seem legit.

  • Suzanne Harper Titkemeyer

OH wow! Wonder if it was the same Michael Miller?

  • Erp

Michael Miller is a common name. There is also a Michael Miller, a presbyterian minister, convicted of sexual molestation of minors in 1986 though definitely not this one since he is dead. http://fpcmatawan.blogspot.com/2012/10/history-reverend-michael-r-miller-1974.html

Funnily enough, I once read an account from a man who was pro-spanking that runs directly counter to this supposed universal directive. He talked about how he did something (from what I call, it was regular childhood mischief) and the family was going away on vacation. And the dad said that in two weeks, the guy would be spanked. Mr. Pro-Spanking thought he was “golden”, until the date of the two-week deadline passed, and the dad, as promised, took Mr. Pro-spanking out and spanked him. And Mr. Pro-spanking, naturally, said he learned a lot about discipline, punishment accountability, all that – easy enough to tell from the tone as it always is with these arguments.

It sounds like this way of “spanking” is the perfect way to exercise a fetish while pretending it’s all about punishment. Any excuse will do, after all, for these folks, and if they can frame spankings planned in advance as an extra-dextra-valuable lesson for the kidlings, they have the perfect setup to plan what are effectively spanking 69orgies while imparting the idea to the kids that this is Very Important punishment and discipline.

  • Friend

Fascinating. In light of that, if this 4-day event is real, how will Mom and Dad prepare the child participants to be sp@nked in front of a live audience? I just can’t imagine taking my own offspring, at any age, to a place where I would mete out planned disc1pline in front of a crowd.

The spontaneous opportunities to parent in public are quite enough, thankyouverymuch.

“I spank my kids because I can’t trust them and they need to understand discipline.”

“So why can’t you trust them? Perhaps because you inflict pain on them when they tell you the truth and they’ve learned its better to lie and not get caught than to be honest and get punished for it? I know if I’m going to get spanked for lying or telling the truth, I’m going to lie every time, because there’s the chance I won’t get caught and therefor, won’t get punished.”

See, this is the problem with “punishment first.” People learn real fast that punishment is unpleasant and as a result, will do anything to avoid experiencing it. It breaks down trust, and it doesn’t instill any intrinsic motivation for self-control. It simply leaves the extrinsic threat of physical violence, which only works so long as the threat of physical violence is immediate and obvious.

Of course, this requires self-reflection and integrity, something these people seem incapable of.

Some forms of discipline simply @nger youngsters. All they think about is how m@d they are at Mom and Dad.

The best discip1ine awakens the kid’s conscience: Was that worth it? Who is hurt1ng right now? Why did I do that? What can I do to make it better?

Admitting anything is hard, because young children have a strong desire to please their parents, and that can override things like honesty. Try not to corner them into telling you a 1ie.

You don’t need to sw@t someone to make an inner monologue happen. Take away a privilege, add a chore, put them in time out, have a full and calm discussion. Give the discipline a clear end point. Love them throughout, even as you show displeasure.

  • AFo

Anyone who walks into this “conference” should be arrested on sight, and their children taken away. This has nothing to do with discipline.

  • Annette G.

This guy is one sick bastard2.

  • Saraquill

I’m not surprised. From what I’ve read over the years, these beatings can be very ritualistic, involve partial undressing1, and concentrate on a child’s erogenous1 zone. To to mention the many many manuals on the subject. This turd1 is being more explicit about his fetish1 than others, that’s the main difference I see.

  • Saraquill

Michael Pearl and others have baited children into no-win situations where they get beaten. This alleged conference sounds like more of the same.

  • Lucy

Al they have to do is find some reason to declare some deed of nebulous morality on the par of a child is serious enough to warrant this event. And if they can’t seem to find one, they could always bait, as Saraquill pointed out, or even present it as a “discipline lesson”, akin to eating one’s vegetables. I mean, the Judge Rotenberg Center does something similar with its “Behavioral Rehearsal” lessons, where the person essentially “rehearses” an “undesirable” behavior by baiting a kid into doing said thing, then if the kid doesn’t do the bad thing, give them an electric shock* anyway to hammer the point home.

*electric shocks are the Judge Rotenberg Center’s favorite discipline of choice, often used in conjunction with other cruel methods.

  • Facebook won’t allow pictures of mother’s breastfeeding their babies, but they allow pictures of assaulting naked2 kids?!?! I’ve been getting more and more sick of their hypocrisy, but that really takes the cake. A$$holes.

  • Jennifer

See, it never bothered me to give a kid a little leg swat if they’re ignoring you and being crazy. But delayed spankings and the elaborate, truly painful kind people practiced just 50 years ago with belts and such? That’s unnecessarily harsh.

  • persephone

Germany has been pursuing an evangelical group that has regular beating sessions in the basement of their churches. There’s always a pocket of these people in what would otherwise be a sane country.

  • Shwilly

Absolutely disgusting! Spanking is bad enough. Enjoying it is outright sadistic!

  • Raging Bee

They’re caving to fascist threats and bullying, that’s what. That would certainly explain why they don’t allow photos of breast-feeding but are perfectly okay with this sort of violent humiliating treatment of children.

  • Facebook won’t allow any “hate speech” against white males, but openly allows actual hate speech to be directed at POC, LGBTQ folks, and women. Don’t get your hopes up that they’ll do anything about this.

  • Cisgendered heterosexual white males, same thing that’s always been wrong with Facebook.

  • And why white men are protected from “hate speech” (like “men are trash”), while literally everybody else has to put up with actual hate speech (which Facebook will tell you doesn’t go against the community standards.)

  • Sassafras

I’ve reported quite a b!t of fu€ked up things over the past decade I’ve been on that dumpster fire site, and they do NOTHING. I’m only on FB for a few groups I’m part of.

  • Sassafras

S@distic motherfu€k£rs! Any “parent” who participates in this NEEDS to be locked up!

  • KittyKat

Predators of all stripes can and probably have used these Facebook pictures as p-rn. Predators that aren’t Christian zealots must already know about this stuff on Facebook.

  • Jennifer

I’ve actually managed to get rid of some awful garbage said against myself and some minorities (different times, not the same instance), but they’ve also refused to take down mockery of Jews, 1sexual2 images, disgusting lewd comments to individuals and a violent “art” photograph of a woman with an open wrist who 3killed4 herself. It’s now totally random what they’ll delete and harder than ever to force them go by their alleged standards.

  • Cynthia

Good point. The religious crowd might find the word “fetish” more shocking, but the correct term sounds like child sexual abuse.

  • HematitePersuasion

I wish I were more surprised, but sexualized authoritarian fetishes in puritanical authoritarian groups seems like a natural extension combining, as it does, eroticism, violence, and virtue-signaling.

Although it does clarify the terror in which such groups hold child protective service-type agencies.

  • HematitePersuasion

Spanking can be a fetish. I have not myself joined or viewed the material on this Facebook group, but from the descriptions others have posted (particularly in regard to nude2 children and spanking implements), it certainly seems like a fetish.

Any form of violence (sexual or otherwise) directed at children is child abuse. What am I saying? It’s a floor was and a dessert topping. It is both fetish, and child abuse.

  • HematitePersuasion

Floor wax. Apparently the mod had to edit this to slip it past filtering (thank you, mod, much appreciated!) and I can no longer make corrections.

I did some research on the history of spanking as punishment. The first recorded incident of spanking seemed to involve Pagan priests spanking barren women to make them fertile. This may have been a punishment, I suppose, but it seems more likely to be a prelude to an orgy2 (which if the infertility was on the husband’s part, might be an effective fix). The first punishment-by-spanking I could find was a Catholic priest spanking women after confession. Um… so possibly sexual there, too.

It eventually became a way of disciplining sailors and slaves, probably because it was a form of punishment which left the victim able to work afterward. I can’t remember offhand when it became the preferred way of inflicting chastisement on misbehaving children, but I think it wasn’t until the 19th century. Oddly, a Victorian marriage advice manual recommended couples engage in some spanky fun in the bedroom, indicating that spanking’s dual identity as a sexual fetish for adults while being considered an appropriate consequence for childhood misbehavior has been around from the beginning, apparently without anyone recognizing the cognitive dissonance. “Yes, Harold, let’s teach little Johnny not to steal sugar by doing to him what you and I do in the bedroom to get off! That makes perfect sense. Oh, and don’t forget– we need to check all of his picture books to make sure there’s no reference to where babies come from. We wouldn’t want him to be corrupted by such knowledge.”
