 It’s almost too ironic that the president announced this on the eve of the anniversary of 9/11, which was the beginning of this war that appears to have ever-changing targets and no end. I started to use the phrase “age of genocide” in the title for this post. But, on reflection, I decided that the word genocide, horrible as it is, is actually too small.  Pope Francis is planning a trip to the Turkish-Iraqi border in November of this year. The trip will give him the opportunity to visit with Christian and Yazidi refugees who have been driven from the homes by ISIS.
