For folks here in the United States, this coming Tuesday (11/8) is Election Day. With so many important issues on the line, from your local level all the way to the national level, I cannot stress enough how important it is to vote. Change happens at the root level and that’s where participation is key.
Especially with so many key issues on the line that affect religious freedom, trans rights, same sex marriage, reproductive rights, voter rights, environmental protection and so many more crucial issues – every vote matters now more than ever. Those who will tell your vote doesn’t matter are absolutely fine with removing your voice from the discussion. It’s YOUR power, USE IT. Don’t give it away.
(hops off soap box)
If you’ve already voted, fantastic! If you haven’t, check your local polling station to see where it is and what hours it is operating. Most states have early voting so you don’t have to wait until Tuesday.
If you’d like to help metaphysically protect polling stations and the people who work them, voter rights, encourage folks to get out to vote, and other key things related to making the voting process safe, secure, and as painless as process, I’ve collected 4 of the key voting sigils here in one place and where you can find out more about them. Some ideas for use: You can draw or carve a sigil on a candle (white or blue are suggested) and burn during the time an election is taking place. You can use the sigil to bless polling places and drop-off boxes (invisibly). You can adorn the body in subtle ways (if you’re heading out to vote or working the polls).
