Quoting Quiverfull: Jana Duggar Still Waiting For ‘Prince Charming’? March 13, 2017

quotingquiverfullby Jana Duggar in an interview with Crown of Beauty Magazine – New Duggar Girls Interview

Editor’s note: Jana finally speaks out about the struggles of waiting for marriage when all your siblings are marrying off left and right. This is so sad. We all know that it’s very common for the eldest daughter in large Quiverfull families to either not marry at all, or to delay marriage much later than their siblings so that they can be a help meet for their younger siblings.

Is anyone interested in doing a book review for NLQ of Crown of Beauty’s book β€˜Beauty, Boys, and Ballgowns’? Let me know and I’ll see if I can get a review copy.

Crown of Beauty: Sometimes being single and waiting for the one that God has for you can be hard. Many of our readers are single, and could use some encouragement! What would you say to encourage yourself, or a friend, when the waiting gets hard?

Jana: I know how it feels to wait for β€œPrince Charming” to come along. I’m still waiting. Waiting is not always easy. Especially in those times when all the married siblings are getting together and you can’t go along because your not part of β€œthat” group. But waiting doesn’t mean sitting and literally waiting. No, we need to be busy with where God has us and being content and joyfully serving Jesus there. My parents have always encouraged each of us to serve those around us. As Jesus said and led by example, β€œβ€¦the greatest among you will be the servant of all.”.
I’ve found that when I’m having a hard or discouraging day, I try to look for ways to bless or serve someone else. And in turn it usually blesses and encourages me!

QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, cultural enforcers and those that seek to keep women submitted to men and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.
