Editor’s note: We have to take a break from Lori Alexander because it’s becoming sort of cruel to keep focusing on someone who clearly has issues and repeats those issues. This is one of many Titus 2 Evangelical bloggers I discovered recently. She’s discussing all the things you have to do as a good wife to keep your man happy. This list seems ridiculously unnecessary to me and more concerned with how she appears to others than how she actually is, what do you think?

This woman worthy of the king’s son in marriage spends her money wiselyβ€”she gives him no reason to worry about putting them on a path toward a financial disaster.Β  She does not hide her purchases, and is careful to consider every penny she spends with the well-being of her entire family in mindβ€”not merely her own wants.

She is careful to protect her heart.Β  She chooses her relationships wisely, even when that means not being friends with someone she wants to, and staying a safe distance from other men who may be β€œperfectly safe” as a means to guard her romantic relationship with her husband.

She takes time emotionally and physically (even when she’s tired), to spruce herself up a bit for her man.Β  The β€œI have a headache” card is not oft-played in her household.

She is careful of her wordsβ€”never spreading gossip.Β  The next time someone runs into her husband at the gas pump, he can feel confident others won’t be pointing fingers and whispering.Β  She knows every word she speaks, no matter how insignificant, could make it back to her husbandβ€”and hurt him.

Above all, she understands that even when she can’t see it or understand it, everything she does can affect her husband.Β  With deep love and respect for her husband, her words, thoughts, and actions are intentional.Β  They are guarded with prayer, modesty, and submission.

QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, cultural enforcers and those that seek to keep women submitted to men and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.
