President Donald Trump and his administration are getting crossways with the medical-scientific community as the latter tries to control a pandemic that may wind up killing hundreds of thousands of Americans before year’s end. It has already killed 140,000 Americans in less than five months. COVID-19 is the worst health crisis the U.S. has faced since the Spanish Flu of 1918, which was 102 years ago. This animosity toward health experts looks to me like an evil darkness surrounding the... Read more

One summer I took my family for a lovely, week’s vacation near Ashville, North Carolina, which is known for its summer tourism. I remember seeing a one-of-a-kind nine-hole golf course there which the legendary Bobby Jones had designed. Of course, North Carolina was part of the Southern Confederacy during the American Civil War. Last night, the Ashville City Council voted unanimously to approve a reparations resolution for its Black community due to the region’s history regarding slavery and further discrimination... Read more

Donald Trump has been president of the United States of America for almost 3.5 years now. During this time, he has constantly and publicly berated the news media in general by saying of it or tweeting it in capitals as “FAKE NEWS!” Sometimes, he has done so specifically by naming The New York Times and/or  The Washington Post. (See my other similar posts about this, such as “Trump Saying FAKE NEWS Hacks Me Off!;” “Fake President.”) I admit I am... Read more

A Pew Research Center poll after the 2016 presidential election showed that among professing evangelical Christians who voted, 81% of them voted for Donald Trump. Yet voters knew quite well that Donald Trump reflected anything but the values that Evangelicals embrace. Yet Trump was promising them the main things they wanted if he was elected: trying to overturn Roe v. Wade that provided for legal abortion, getting rid of same-sex marriage, and nominating politically-conservative judges, with one or two of... Read more

Collin Morikawa defeated Justin Thomas on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff today at Muirfield Village near Columbus, Ohio, for his second win on the PGA Tour. Morikawa had been making an impression of consistency in his first year on the PGA Tour by making the two-day, 36-hole, cut in his first 23 tournaments before he missed his first cut recently. Thus, he came close to Tiger Woods’ record of making the cut in his first 25 PGA Tour... Read more

Brandel Chamblee is an articulate and very savvy golf swing analyst on telecasts of PGA Tour tournaments who also played the PGA Tour. There is something that is sort of unfair to Brandel about this which is that most of the other retired PGA Tour players who are also commentators on TV, as Chamblee is, had stellar PGA Tour careers that included many wins and even wins in the four majors. Brandel obviously is there with them because he is... Read more

I regard Butch Harmon, whom I’ve known a very long time, to be the best swing coach on the PGA Tour, thus pretty much in the world. Butch used to be the swing instructor of Greg Norman and Tiger Woods. If Tiger would have never left Butch in a huff, I think Tiger would have surpassed Jack Nicklaus’ #1 record of 18 majors that he won. Tiger lost his swing for several years. But the Tiger has now regained his... Read more

Tiger had the golf world by the tail. His pace of winning golf’s four majors was well ahead of Jack Nicklaus’ pace at that age. But Tiger was messing around with the ladies even though he was married to Sweden’s Elin Nordgren. In 2004, it all blew up in Tiger’s face, and that was the beginning of his fall from grace in the golf world. But Tiger has been making a great comeback, even winning the Masters last year for... Read more

Mary Trump’s book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, which is about Donald Trump and the Trump family, is quite revealing and different from any anti-Donald Trump book written so far. She was there, a member of the family, who witnessed Uncle Donald and knows a lot more about him than those other trash-talking authors. In fact, she reveals in this book that she was the source who informed The New York... Read more

Mary Trump, niece of President Donald Trump, has written a book entitled Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man. Published by Simon of Schuster (they published John Bolton’s book recently), the book is being released next Tuesday, two weeks ahead of schedule. It’s because pre-sales rocketed it to the #1 bestseller position on amazon.com. That is a pretty shocking subtitle. Mary Trump seems to mean that with every spiritual fiber of her soul.... Read more
