Men Need to Conquer, But Not With Sports or Infidelity

Men Need to Conquer, But Not With Sports or Infidelity December 30, 2017

There’s been speculation all over the internet about the sexuality of Faithful Word Baptist Church’s pastor Steven Anderson. Some say he’s a closeted gay man because of his constant fury against the the LGBQT community. Others say he is straight and it’s likely he’s cheated on his wifeΒ  based upon things he says about the role of women. Who knows and really, who really cares. I don’t.

But one has to wonder what’s going on when Steve posts something like this on his blog instead of his usual rantings about other pastors and those he disapproves of. He starts off with the story in Samuel 2 of King David lusting over a bathing Bathsheba before he seduces her.

Yeah, adultery is pretty much frowned upon by most folks. Big surprise.

That’s it. His lone mention of adultery, and confusing in the context of his man as warrior trope. We all know that Anderson is not blessed with the gift of logic after having heard his multitude of sermons on YouTube. If you have a strong stomach, a dark sense of humor and an afternoon to kill you can watch them all.

So sports are forbidden, watching or playing, and you might stray straight into adultery so go out β€˜Soul Winning’ or go shoeless running in the desert to stay holy? Stay busy for the Lord? I wonder what Steven thinks of the many contemplative saints in early church history.

Confusing mess as usual.
