Lori Alexander Insists Young Working Women Do Not Care About Their Homes?

Lori Alexander of The Transformed Wife is whinging on and on again on the same subjects she’s already worn out. Don’t work outside the home. Do fawn over your husband like he’s a six foot tall chocolate Easter Bunny. Shut up and listen to older women like Lori because your own thoughts are selfish, selfish, selfish. And a soupcon of Lori saying she does not judge women. I’m calling fiddlesticks on this last one. All she does is meanly judge others who do not line up with her toxic theology. Today it’s all about making sure your daughters love their homes and staying home.

Yawn.

Here’s Lori’s thoughts on this:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Jesus himself tell Martha that housework isn’t that important when she criticized her sister Mary for ignoring the cooking and cleaning to interact with him?

Plus, cleaning and cooking aren’t brain surgery. They are pretty easy to pick up. I wasn’t trained by my mother, in fact we had household staff, and I somehow manage to cook from scratch and keep my house clean enough for guests to stay in. It’s just not that hard! Do you, dear readers, find it hard to do what you must?

Lori allows no outs or exceptions for any reason, which is really crazy. There are those times when you will be sidelined and unable to cook and clean. Illness, scheduling conflicts, sick children, deadlines on things like taxes to only mention a few that might lead to a temporarily messy home. In her tightly controlled world there is no excuse or circumstance that allows for any deviation. I’m guessing that her inflexibility is probably responsible for some of the anger and frustration that bleeds through into her writing.

This sounds more like fear, crippling anxiety and the need to control daughters with a nice heaping helping of judgementalism. How clean you keep your house, and if you cook is no one’s business but your own. Lori’s adding rules to the Bible again.
