No Longer Quivering
Lori Alexander of The Transformed Wife is beating the same dead horse again today. That of how happy women have no expectations in marriage. This time though she’s using a book given to her by her father. The quote below is not Lori speaking but the book’s author Gary Thomas. Lori says that the titled of the book is ‘A Lifelong Marriage’. but the actual title is ‘A Lifelong Love’.
Haven’t read the book yet, but from what little I could find in Lori’s post it looks very toxic indeed.
Interesting that Thomas actually admits there will be times and circumstances where his advice will not work. Lori gives no such wiggle room. But what can you expect from a woman who cannot even remember the correct name of a book she’s teaching in her chatroom?
Life is easier without the silly passive-agressive games of pouting because your husband could not read your mind and brought home the wrong kind of peanut butter. That type of expectation no one should have. But yet again, it’s not wrong to have expectations of mutual respect, kindnss and decent behavior in marriages.
