Lori Alexander of The Transformed Wife has been making her little handwritten pious doodles again in an attempt to go βviralβ again. But the internet has been like a bottle of Valtrex in making sure that does not happen to the point where Lori is getting pushback on her worst ideas β like that of servant leadership for husbands. Ken, her husband, is using her blog to answer her critics. But what does servant leadership look like?Β Depends on who you ask.
I always assumed it meant being like Jesus. But in Lori-Land it looks a lot like the usual assortment of Biblical misunderstandings to put men as super-jerkish boars controlling everything. Does not sound much like Christ, does it?
I donβt know for sure what it looks like, but I suspect it looks closer to my husbandβs actions of the last week than anything Ken can cook up. Broke toes and a few small bones of the foot and developed a MRSA infection in one of the toes. I cannot walk because they cannot cast me, they cannot cast me while theyβre trying to heal the MRSA infection. Which means my dear husband has had to mop the floors and take over various chores that are foreign to him. Itβs what a responsible leader does. Finally I was able to walk some today and do a few things, but only because I have been able to get off my feet and heal.
Servant leadership does what needs to happen to meet the needs of those in the group, not the selfish thing, definitely not sit there like King Bump On The Log waiting to be worshiped while the group members are out of commission.
