The Devil Invented Birth Control

The Devil Invented Birth Control June 25, 2019

After the drama and shenanigans of a Larry Solomon saying he was not the other Larry, followed by taking down his Facebook profiles and yesterday’s Lori Alexander hates everyone I give you Above Rubies Nancy Campbell. It’s not enough for Nancy to hate abortion, now she’s making claims over sterilization and birth control. She claims abortion is just β€œSatan’s backup plan.”

Say what?

However, I think that the devil, who is the mastermind behind abortion, has hoodwinked those of us who say we are prolife. The devil, who comes to β€œrob, kill, and destroy,” hates life. His plan goes beyond abortion. The trio he uses to rob, kill, and destroy are contraception, sterilization, and abortion. His first aim is to eradicate life before it is born. Abortion is his back-up plan.

Clearly Nancy does not understand how the pill works because she goes on to state that birth control pills are just like abortions. But first there’s a lot of carrying on about being mailed β€˜abortion pills’ I have to assume Nancy is talking about the medication abortion, and no, they are not mailed out willy nilly like packets or letters. You usually have to go a health facility.

Here’s what Nancy is ignoring in her screed against medical abortion. From Planned Parenthood:

β€œAbortion pill” is the common name for using two different medicines to end a pregnancy: mifepristone and misoprostol.

First, you take a pill called mifepristone. Pregnancy needs a hormone called progesterone to grow normally. Mifepristone blocks your body’s own progesterone, stopping the pregnancy from growing.

Then you take the second medicine, misoprostol, either right away or up to 48 hours later. This medicine causes cramping and bleeding to empty your uterus. It’s kind of like having a really heavy, crampy period, and the process is very similar to an early miscarriage. If you don’t have any bleeding within 24 hours after taking the second medicine, call your nurse or doctor.

Your doctor or nurse will give you both medicines at the health center. When and where you’ll take them depends on state laws and your health center’s policies. Your doctor or nurse will give you detailed directions about where, when, and how to take the medicines. You may also get some antibiotics to prevent infection.

Nancy goes on to make this claim:

The American Life League states that β€œUsing formulas based on the way the birth control pill works, pharmacy experts project that about 14 million chemical abortions occur in the United States each year.” That’s more babies killed through the Pill, and its various associated methods, than through abortion!

According to the numbers at the CDC, Centers for Disease Control, those numbers aren’t even close. I guess in Nancy’s abortion math she’s counting all of the birth control pills taken too and adding random acts of birth control into the total.
