I have to say I am surprised, and happy when this news was announced. Jill Duggar Dillard, announced that she has enrolled her eldest son, Israel Dillard in their local public school. Or as denizens of fundytown call it “That government concentration camp that teaches abortion, godlessness and gayness…”

Jill herself was raised in the world of homeschooling only. Her parents used those not very accurate worksheets by one Bill Gothard of Institute of Basic Life Principles that offers non-science answers to science questions and makes all types of nasty moral judgements based on things we cannot control. It was very far from a complete well-rounded basic education.

“to do a Christian-based curriculum – one in which there’s a lot of character emphasis, character building like responsibility, honest, self-control.”

Keep in mind these are the same people who covered for many years for a son who struggled with sexual peccadilloes, with pornography, lying about pornography, molesting little girls, visiting strip clubs, sleeping with prostitutes and so on. Yes, that some “character building” going on in that household most obviously.

Another site claims this is the reason:

” They adhere to a strict moral code, no exceptions, and didn’t want their children exposed to other ideologies in public school.”

Considering this fall that Homeland Security raided and closed Josh’s business I would love to know how the Duggars possibly think they are imbuing that “strict moral code”

For Jill to decide that she should allow others to educate her children, public experts, people with four plus years of post high school education and a lot of continuing education after her upbringing is pretty miraculous. She understands that the primary job of parenting is educating your children. Not everyone is prepared or can homeschool their children. Some are even wise enough to realize it’s not for them.

Just another sign proving that the Dillard family is moving away from the rules of the Duggar family.
