When the war in Gaza ends, the situation may be close to the establishment of a Palestinian state replicating the ancient nation of the Philistines. The New York Times reports today that, although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has remained somewhat silent about what will happen to the Gaza Strip when the war ends there, “Behind the scenes, however, senior officials in his office have been weighing an expansive plan for postwar Gaza, in which Israel would offer to share... Read more

Jesus of Nazareth taught, “search and you will find,” and “the truth will make you free.” Do this and you will not be a bound-up victim who believes in conspiracy theories, such as that COVID-19 vaccines cause autism.   Was Jesus “Deceiving the Crowd”? The New Testament’s Gospel of John relates that during the latter part of Jesus’ two-to-three-year itinerant and public ministry, he attended the Feast of Tabernacles (Booths) at the temple in Jerusalem (John 7.1-2). By this time,... Read more

In response to Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza, today the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that broadens the definition of “antisemitism” in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that bars U.S. citizens from discriminating against Jews and also prohibits “targeting the State of Israel.” What! You can’t even criticize Israel anymore? Many analysts claim it would severely encroach upon free speech laws. This legislation now goes to the Senate. I doubt it will pass as is.... Read more

Legally, it was a historic day today for the USA. Two important legal cases are now being conducted simultaneously that concern former President Donald Trump. New York State’s Manhattan trial indicting Trump began Monday. It is the first court case in our nation’s history in which a former president has been charged with a crime, in this case 34 felonies. If Trump’s lawyers lose, he could wind up in prison. The other legal case began today. The U.S. Supreme Court... Read more

I’ve purposely avoided posting about former President Donald Trump’s four legal indictments he is facing as he simultaneously campaigns for the presidential election this fall as the certain, Republican nominee. From the time Trump first began to campaign for the U.S. presidency, in mid-2015, to soon after he exited the Oval Office, I posted about 350 times about him on my blog. Some people say I was obsessed about it. I prefer to believe that I was rightly worried about... Read more

Scottie Scheffler keeps on proving he is the #1 pro golfer in the world for the past two years. This morning, he finished the last three holes of his final round in the weather-delayed, PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, with a par, par, and bogey to shoot a 19-under par 265 total to win by three strokes over Sahith Theegala, who finished alone in second place, and four strokes over... Read more

New Testament scholars–both conservative and liberal–claim there is a big difference in theology, particularly Christology, between the synoptic gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke—and John’s gospel. They assert the synoptics portray a “low Christology,” meaning Jesus is no more than a man, whereas they insist the Gospel of John presents a “high Christology,” meaning Jesus is both man and God, thus “a Godman.” I believed this for 22 years since that is what my church taught me. And churches teach this because... Read more

Scottie Scheffler–the #1 pro golfer in the world–made a scrambling par with a one stroke water hazard penalty on the par five 15th hole today in the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, to protect his five stroke lead at 20-under par total as play was then ended for the day at 7:45 PM ET. Play had been suspended hours earlier due to rain and lightning. At that time, Scheffler had a four stroke lead at 19-under par... Read more

Scottie Scheffler–the #1 pro golfer in the world the past two years and winner of last week’s Masters Tournament–continued his hot streak today by shooting a blazing 8-under par 63 at the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, to take a one stroke lead into tomorrow’s last round with a logjam of players behind him within striking distance. If Scheffler wins tomorrow, he will be only the third player to ever... Read more

Today, the U.S,. as a permanent member of the 15-member UN Security Council, vetoed a long-sought resolution by Palestinians for the Security Council to recommend that the 193-member UN General Assembly upgrade Palestinian observer status of the UN to present recognition of a Palestinian state. As a keen observer of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the OPEC oil embargo of 1973, and an author of this subject, I have advocated for the past forty plus years that Palestinians are entitled to... Read more
