When Your Life Reads Like Abuse Porn

When Your Life Reads Like Abuse Porn 2018-06-16T08:32:20-04:00

Another piece at Lori Alexander’s The Transformed Wife written by someone else and quoted in its entirety. This reads like some sort of torture and abuse glorification, abuse porn. THIS is what Lori thinks makes up a successfull marriage, staying with a demented abuser until you die.

From an article called β€˜She Married a Monster’ by Matt Mcmillen. Trigger warning for abuse. Very hard to read and not be angry that this poor woman was abused with impunity on a regular basis.

And the abuse apparently kept impacting everyone down the generational line in this poor family. Tragic, especially when you consider that one person, just one, disengaging and leaving could have created an entirely different, peaceful, safe and drama free life for their children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, for better or worse, we tend to drag out of our families of origin the trauma of the family and replay some version of it.

Jaw drop. No words at the sheer awfulness. Why did she not call law enforcement I do not know. If someone threatens you directly like this the best thing to do is leave immediately if you can. Don’t stay with words about earning huge golden crowns in heaven ringing in your ears because it’s likely that you’ll be reaching eternity sooner. Please, please get out.

You can fight the devil from a distance too, that does not involve divorce if you are so determined to keep the marriage. But no one should be forced to stay in a marriage with level of violence, or really any violence.

I can only think that Lori Alexander’s promotion of some of the worst stories of miserable marriages without any leaving or redress are a projection of her own misery, as in misery loves company. Someone who is happy, content and secure does not attempt to keep others in such sheer hell. There is nothing in the Bible that says you must stay with someone abusing you.
