John Fea, history professor at Messiah University and an evangelical Christian himself, has done fantastic work debunking the historical revisionism so popular among his own people. At the History News Network, he strongly critiques and debunks many of the claims that Trump-loving megachurch con artist Robert Jeffress makes about Christianity and America’s founding, most of which come straight from professional liar David Barton.
Former Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin, who was the commander of American special ops command and is now a vice president of the Family Research Council, gave a talk at the church of con man Rick Joyner last weekend and told them that the Constitution is based entirely on the Bible and that all the founding fathers were Christians.
The key to a long career is versatility and that is no less true of David Barton’s chosen career, which is professional liar. So he’s branching out. No longer content merely to lie about historical matters, he’s now taken to lying about current events as well. To wit:
Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel is peddling another long-debunked lie about the founding fathers. During an episode of the Faith and Freedom radio show with Mat Staver, the dumbest lawyer in America not named Larry Klayman, Barber claimed that “many” of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence and framed the Constitution were pastors.
Bill Federer is like a poor man’s David Barton. He writes a “column” every week, published in the Worldnetdaily, that consists of little more than a bunch of quotes from the founders, or some other figures in history, with little to connect them to the point he claims to be making. His latest column is a textbook example. “Would Jefferson be accused of hate crimes today?” the headline asks. This is his weird attempt to answer that question.
Whenever I hear David Barton and his followers argue that America was founded as an officially Christian nation, I can’t help but laugh at just how bad their arguments are. In particular, the equation of the founding of the colonies with the founding of the country is so utterly illogical. They even cite the evidence themselves and are still oblivious to it. Here’s a great example.
Tim Barton, son of theocratic con man and pathological liar David Barton, takes the same position his father does on the 2nd Amendment, which is that it not only protect a right to own guns, but to own any weapon the government has in its arsenal.

Con man and arch-bigot Rick Scarborough has been named the new pastor of SkylineDC, an offshoot of Jim Garlow’s Skyline megachurch in California that was set up to be a ministry (unofficial, of course) to Congress and the federal government. This after the first try crashed and burned.
It had been hours, at least, since David Barton had spouted a ridiculous lie and that is apparently just too long for him. So on his Wallbuilders radio show, he blurted out the patently false claim that the Obama administration had declared him to be an “enemy of the state” and a “domestic terrorist.”
