I think U.S. President Donald Trump will go down in history as a complete bozo about climate change. As he likes to say about so many things, “time will tell.” Indeed it will. Donald Trump is a narcissistic fool who denies that humans are chiefly the cause of the 1-2% rise in the temperature of our planet Earth in a little more than the past century. Donald Trump was a real estate mogul who has always been mostly about sex... Read more

Israel had an election yesterday to determine its prime minister. The results appear to be a draw between incumbent Benjamin Netanyahu and challenger Benny Gantz, the former defense minister. With 90% of the vote counted, Gantz’s Blue and White Party has 32 seats in the Knesset and Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud Party has only 31 seats. In Israel’s unique form of parliamentary democracy, this was an election do-over. In the previous election, six months ago, Prime Minister Netanyahu won the election.... Read more

Ivanka Kushner is the eldest daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump. In mid-August, she spoke at a Republican fundraiser in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She was asked what traits she thinks she derived from her parents. She attributed to her mother, Ivana Trump, her inner strength as a woman. Then she reportedly said, “I get my moral compass from my father.” Politico reports Ivanka Kushner spoke similarly at the Republican National Convention in 2016. She supposedly said, “My father taught my... Read more

Twenty-year old Joaquin Niemann, from Santiago Chili, won A Tribute to the Military at The Greenbriar in White Sulfur Spings, West Virginia, today on the PGA Tour. He set several records in doing so. The Latin American is the first golfer from Chili to ever win a PGA Tour tournament. And he joined twenty-year old Matthew Wolff, who won the 3M Open in June, to become one of the two youngest pro golfers to win on the PGA Tour in... Read more

That’s right! At least that’s what the ark’s owners think. The tourist attraction of a Noah’s ark replica in Williamstown, Kentucky, is supposedly insured for rain damage. So now, the owners of Ark Encounter are suing their insurance companies about it. Some downpours–not a big flood, mind you–have caused about $1 million in damages to the big boat tourists go see and walk through. However, Ark Encounter owners don’t want you to think their big boat is so damaged that... Read more

Christians committing suicide? Sounds like an oxymoron. But heh, mental illness doesn’t necessarily go away when people let Jesus into their lives. I didn’t know that this month, September, is designated National Suicide Prevention Month. I knew a 36-year old professing Christian woman who sometimes had suicidal thoughts. She said she wanted to die and go to heaven to be with her deceased dad. Last year, an atheist friend of mine introduced me to a new Christian, a 60-year old... Read more

President Donald Trump this morning tweeted a message calling Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell, whom Trump appointed, a bonehead for not cutting interest rates to “zero or lower.” Actually, Trump called Powell and other members of the Federal Reserve “boneheads” for it. Mind you, this comes from a businessman who declared bankruptcy four times in his career and now has over a dozen FBI investigations looking into his possible financial corruptions. What is a bonehead? It’s a “stupid person.” Donald... Read more

Golf.com has an article today that is written by PGA (not PGA Tour) golf swing instructor Baden Schaff entitled “Teacher: Why keeping your arms straight is one of the biggest myths in golf.” He writes, “One of the most common concepts I hear and see is ‘make sure you keep your arms straight!’ But this can actually be quite a dangerous concept: Straight arms can often lead to loss of power, over-active wrists and an over-active body.” I think that’s... Read more

Since Donald Trump has been U.S. president, I’ve posted four times about the present, increasing fragility of our system of democracy. (For example, see “Does President Donald Trump Believe in Our Democracy?“) But it’s not happening only here. Our #1 ally, the United Kingdom, is experiencing it as well Germany and many other places. It is a new phenomenon in the 21st century, in which right-wing populism is taking over. The last half of the 20th century was the golden... Read more

The mass shooting in West Texas on August 31 seems to have caused America to turn a corner on gun regulation along with the growing fact that Democrats are gaining a foothold in winning the 2020 election, certainly in the House, the Senate right now is up for grabs, and the presidency–go figure. Nobody thought Donald Trump win the presidency, at least early on after he threw his hat in the ring to run the race. How so? Democrats took control... Read more
