by Tim Bayly from Bayly Blog β Effeminacy: When the Church Denies a Sin is a Sin
Editorβs note: Bayly is back on his favorite vile hobby horse β masculinity and effeminacy. Yet he starts with βLumberjack dykesβ. Quoting Doug Wilson and doubling down on his nasty words that no pastor should be lobbing about. He has a photo of Lord Byron and Dennis Rodman to illustrate his point. I dare him to tell Rodman to his face that heβs βgirlyβ. Sad, sick and illustrative of his own issues more than anyone elses.
The example Doug mentionsΒ of people being scandalized by what heβs written is a reference he made in the past to βlumberjack dykes.β Six or soΒ weeks ago I used the expression βbull dykesβ and got similar pushback from readers. Then yesterday, a pastor I respect told me he didnβt think aΒ man Iβd posted a picture of wasΒ βvainβ in his appearance. My post was wrong, he thoughtβ¦
We had a good conversation about it, so now Iβm going to double down on my warning about vanity in men. What do all three of the objections to Dougβs and my posts have in common?
Each of them was a warningΒ against sexual identities that are contrary to theΒ man or womanΒ God made us. The βlumberjack dykeβ or βbull dykeβ is manly in rebellion against the sex God made her. The preening peacock walking down the streetΒ is womanly in rebellion against the sex God made him
Why does it anger Christians for a pastor to point outΒ such basic sinsΒ today?
The thing heβs shouting about is something that has been an issue and concern for many across the years. Hereβs an example from almost a hundred years ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSlfQ49Bq1sIβm guessing heβs never heard of the castrati singers of the 17th century either!
