Quoting Quiverfull: Lori Alexanders Wants to Silence Other Women Bloggers?

Quoting Quiverfull: Lori Alexanders Wants to Silence Other Women Bloggers? August 24, 2017

Lori Alexanders Brainby Lori Alexander from The Transformed Wife – Should Women Bloggers/Speakers Be Held Accountable?

Editor’s note: Another version of Lori trying to shut down all other teaching women bloggers. Unquoted is her constant refrain that she is right to be blogging because she’s an ‘older woman’ and her glorification of Nancy Campbell and Debi Pearl. Interesting enough the only comment is from a man. Apparently Lori is also teaching men, in direct opposition to what she claims she believes.

Lori asks that women bloggers be held accountable? That’s a great idea. Women bloggers that belittle, berate and treat suicidal women so badly that they carry through on their suicidal thoughts SHOULD be held legally responsible! Recently there was a case of a young woman that told her boyfriend to kill himself, egging him on and now she’s going to jail. If one of those depressed ladies Lori openly told to shut up on her blog comments were to kill themselves holding Lori accountable would be a good thing.

There is a “Christian” woman blogger who had a post go viral recently. She’s a great writer so I went back to her beginning posts. Every post was filled with Bible verses and were about the LORD. She has many children but recently she divorced her husband. Now in her recent posts, she never mentions the name of the LORD nor quotes Scripture yet thousands of women are reading her words.

I have noticed a troubling trend among women today; they read and follow other women who proclaim “truth” as they see it since it is more acceptable and palatable, instead of learning from older women teaching what older women are commanded to teach the younger women and godly men teaching the Word of God. Therefore, few women have godly wisdom while most just want their ears tickled instead.

Even when we do, it’s good for us to have a godly husband making sure that what we write is biblically accurate and be accountable to him. We aren’t supposed to be an island to ourselves. We are told to exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3:13).

It seems the woman who divorced her husband and no longer writes anything about the LORD has been hardened through the deceitfulness of sin as some of the other big time blogging women. It’s the same with the famous female bloggers who endorse gay marriage, female preachers, and other things that are forbidden in the Word or make up words or movements that aren’t in God’s Word. Knowing that women are more easily deceived, we need to be held accountable for the things we write, especially when we have a large platform of teaching many women.

…and the lone comment by ‘Rob’

Accountability in Christ is everything. Too many times in today’s society we lose focus and get caught in the me society. I’m not happy I’m divorcing I’m not happy I’m leaving.
It’s not about me, it’s not about you. It’s about our savior Jesus Christ the one who paid it all. Divorce is selfish plain and simple So this woman is saying god was great when she was married. Now that she isn’t divorcing her husband god isn’t good anymore??

God does his best works when we need him the most. Trust me I’m in a marriage that has had my wife threaten divorce to me numerous times but I refuse to listen because I know he knows our sufferings and when we are faithful to him there is An abundance of happiness waiting for us

It’s shocking that a loving man like ‘Rob’ is ok with his wife suffering and doesn’t care that she wants to divorce or listen to her problems.

    /s

If Rob is Lori’s husband, then they deserve each other. They’re both mean-spirited dickbags.

  • Julia Childress

    Rob aka Trey aka Ken?

  • Mel

Oh, don’t worry, Lori isn’t teaching men; they are just affirming her testimony. It’s totally different! *rolls eyes*

  • lady_black

Aunt Lori isn’t allowed to sit in judgment on anyone else’s marriage, either. She doesn’t know why the woman divorced her husband. Was he beating her? Was he gay and wanted out (and don’t think that doesn’t happen)? Was he abusing the children? On drugs?
Everyone has their limits, and sometimes you just have to leave. That point came when my ex-husband drugged me and raped my unconscious body. He could have killed me. Nobody is worth that. Certainly not her, OR her “god.”

  • Tawreos

Age is not always an indicator of wisdom. My Dad is much older than I am and he swears by homeopathic medicine. Also, if you have to have your husband sign off on what you are writing, you are not passing along your “wisdom”, you are passing along what he will let you pass on. It would be nice if she would just admit that she is jealous because some other woman has a larger following writing about what she wants instead of within the strict guidelines that she allows her husband to inflict upon her.

I am so sorry that happened to you. Glad you’re safe now. Sending very big hugs.

any idea about the relevance of “many children?” Lori just mentions the divorced lady’s kids in passing, and i don’t know why.

  • Hold her morally and ethically accountable, yes. Drag her through the coals for deleting a link to the Suicide Hotline. But don’t blame her for someone else’s choice to commit suicide.

When it comes to suicide, others can influence, sure, but ultimately, the decision lies with the one doing the act themselves.

The girl wrongly convicted of “encouraging” her boyfriend to commit suicide, has nobody considered that maybe, just maybe, he’d been using threats of suicide as a way to control her? And that maybe she just got tired of it and called his bluff? Nobody? Just gonna condemn her, because his family painted her as a monster, and their son as an “innocent victim”?

It was a long time ago. What I definitely wouldn’t have needed is someone trying to make me feel guilty about leaving! Some things are just intolerable, and that’s one of them.

  • Jo

I was speechless when I read this blog – what an ego that Lori has to believe that she is RIGHT and all these other women are WRONG – unless you are Nancy or Mrs Pearl (or Mrs Dugger). What arrogance this woman has.

  • The Jack of Sandwich

Oh, no, she was writing blogs and not mentioning the Lord or quoting scripture!
How can you be a good person without mentioning Jesus every other sentence?

  • Nightshade

Yes, Aunt Lori. Accountable for deliberately preventing a suicidal woman from getting help…for telling women they have no right to be treated like human beings…instructing women to stay with abusers…mandating lives of extreme poverty by forbidding women to even provide for and protect their own children…saying women have to follow commands that you don’t even live by. Yes, women bloggers should be held accountable. Finally we agree on something! Oh, you want others to be accountable, but not you? Yeah, that’s about what I figured…

  • katiehippie

    Wow, the stupid is strong.
“However Islam doesn’t have respect for Western men or women. They will kill males and Force submission on the females. Make no mistake. Women can have Western men treat them with decency and love or have Islam force them into a role of cave woman.”

How dare those Islam guys try to take over our job of making women submit!

  • milesaway

I’m so sorry for what happened to you! At the same time, I’m happy to hear you’re away from him now. You made the right decision to leave him, no matter what abusive, victim-blaming, spiteful pieces of shit like Lori have to say about it.
