No Longer Quivering
The title is cribbed from a ‘Weird’ Al Yankovic song ‘Amish Paradise’. In one part Al dressed as an Amish man says he’s a million times as humble as thou art. It fits Michae Pearl’s piece on humility that makes absolutely zero sense. Only Michael is truly humble by his own crazy metric.
I have read this piece probably ten times and it still does not make sense to me. Is this some weird word salad-y way to brag? The random brain cells firing off after Gramps takes his meds? Take a look. It’s a quick bit by Michael Pearl of No Greater Joy.
Humility is not a virtue? Coulda fooled me. Did you know there are over 40 verses mentioning that being humble is a good thing? Read on and see what Michael is whinging on about.
When is self-effacement considered self-promoting and prideful? Seems to me that people that always put others first are living in true humility. All this crazy claims about humility makes me wonder just how recovered from his stroke Michael is as this is pretty nonsensical.
On the other hand I’d love to hang out with this particular Pearl grandchild and her vulture. This is Ashley Pearl and she’s also featured in this last No Greater Joy magazine talking about her pet raptor. She does not seem to have had her spirit crushed yet, writes better than her gramps and has something interesting to say. Yes, I know, hard to believe about anyone raised with the Pearl method of wailing the tar out of kids for normal behavior.
