Sheila Wray Gregorie Takes on Creeps?

Sheila Wray Gregorie Takes on Creeps?

This is going to be icky and unpleasant. Instead look at the delicious cacoa pods I got to taste this week up in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Chocolate can cure what ails you, except for creeps..

Have to admit I am usually not a big fan of Sheila Gregorie.Β  We’ve quoted her a handful of times for some very bad ideas at her Love, Honor and Vacuum blog.Β  I don’t know how she has time to love, honor and vacuum with all her outreaches and ministries. She is the lady that said as a Christian woman you had to stay as physically attractive as possible no matter what. Her brand of stay nice looking for your husband and make your marriage sizzle is not anything I am interested in or need.

I was out of town for a few days, up in Monteverde, where I had extremely limited internet and unable to update. When I came down the mountain I saw this firestorm going on at Spiritual Sounding Board and at a bunch of Facebook sites.

It involves the whole issue of modesty. What is modest? What is too tempting for men? Apparently the answer in Sheila Gregorie’s church is teenage girls in any skirts up on the platform leading worship.

Here’s the shocking part of me, not that adult men openly drooled in teenage girls, but that some of them then turned around and tried to say it is the fault of the girls.

How many times have we been here with men refusing to take any personal responsibility for controlling their own desires? Too many to count.

This may be the first time I’ve ever agreed completely with Sheila Wray Gregorie.

Toby Mickey is a creep. 14 year old girls should never been considered someone to lust over, they aren’t of legal age, they are still CHILDREN!

No one should ever be responsible for policing the sexuality of adults! This is the harm that purity culture and modesty culture does, it makes women the gatekeepers to a man’s sexuality, instead of putting the control of a man’s libido where it belongs, on that individual man.
