Lori Alexander Takes a Break

Lori Alexander Takes a Break August 26, 2019

And rightly so. Her husband Ken is in ICU from the side effects of Lyme disease. Today on her blog The Transformed Wife – Lori Alexander announced she would be taking time off her social media and blog to be with Ken,Β  at least until this crisis passes. As well she should.

There is nothing more frightening and stressful for a wife than when her husband who has always been healthy has a life threatening health crisis.Β  It consumes your every thought, and colors your entire world with worry. I’ve always said that the times I’ve sat next to my husband’s hospital bed, when he had cancer and this recent shoulder break, were the most stressful exhausting times of my life. Even as you are sitting still holding his hand. I would not wish that on anyone.

But here’s the thing, while we at NLQ openly criticize the theology and words of Lori Alexander we only wish the best for her, and by extension her husband Ken and family. One of her daughters is due to give birth soon, and I hope and pray this crisis is overcome by then and Ken is on the path to healing.

May Lori be calm and comforted during this scary time. We wish her the best, and for Ken’s swift healing.

Ken said yesterday that he didn’t need β€œGet well” notes and words, but desired the prayers of everyone instead. If you’re the praying type please do so if you feel led.

Pray for Lori to be strengthened and comforted. Facing the possible death of your spouse in Quiverfull is beyond fearful, because your entire life revolves around him. Possibly losing the center of your life can shake your entire foundation.

If you don’t pray let us have good thoughts towards the two of them and their family.

Let this also be a reminder to us to seek medical attention quickly if you think you may have been bitten by a tick and contracted a tick borne illness. Swift treatment can make a difference in how much illness and side effects you suffer from a tick bite! This is one of those illnesses where quick application of antibiotics can make a huge difference in long term outcomes. Information from the CDC on tick borne illness.

Feel better Ken and Lori!
