Billy Graham Speaks Out for Pastor Saeed

Today, I was so touched to see that Franklin Graham placed a full page ad in the New York Times, urging the new President of Iran to free Saeed Abedini, an American who is in Iran’s Evin prison.  There, prisoners are routinely hanged outside their cells to terrorize the other inmates.

All across our nation – and the world — people are gathering to hold prayer vigils.  He certainly needs them.  Saeed is being beaten, persecuted, and tortured simply because of his faith.  (I’ve written about him several times, but we have to keep fighting for him until his release!)

What can you do to help?  If you can’t attend a rally, you can send a letter directly to the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, just like Rev. Graham. To send your own letter, click here.

What else can you do?

Attend a vigil.

Sign a petition.

Tell people about it on Facebook and Twitter

Pray.

Thank you, Rev. Graham, for continuing for speak out for the oppressed!

    **__** … !!!-)

Reverend Graham’s children should be ashamed of themselves for cashing in on their father’s legacy. If he was lucid I’m sure he would put a stop to it.

      WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY?

      • Jeff

You clearly don’t know very much about Rev. Graham. His son is nothing like him.

        • Larry Shackleford

Then Jeff you do not know his family.

          • Jeff

Actually I know them very well.

    • kim

its not cashing in…its called following in his steps, this is whats supposed to happen…not a disconnect each generation, but a continuation and increase. Wonderful man of faith and family, who loves God and people, serves people. Thankful for his legacy.

      • Jeff

Then his son should put his picture and name on it and not use his father’s.

If we asked our president to speak with Iran’s president on this matter, would he know what we’re talking about & would he want to help? It seems that he is so buddy-buddy with all of these not-so-nice guys, most of them from countries that are murdering their citizens that are Christians. God, please help this country & Saeed!

You do realize that there’s a new leader in Iran? And he’s being touted as a moderate? And that President Obama is trying to speak to him, which would mark the first time IN YEARS that the Iranian leader would have an audience with the leader of the free world? So it’s not that easy, Drea B. You don’t simply “ask our president to speak with Iran’s president on this matter,” and President Obama is not “buddy-buddy with all of these not-so-nice guys.” It’s not President Obama’s fault that this guy in imprisoned. And for Pete’s sake, pick up a newspaper.

You had no way of knowing this, b/c it happened after your post, but Obama did express his concern for Abedini in the now-famous phone with the Iranian pres. However, State Dept has made statements on this in the past, and sent a representative to his vigil. We don’t have formal diplomatic relations with Iran, so that makes communication difficult; sometimes the Swiss Embassy acts as a mediator for US interests

Billy Graham is one good man of God; one of the most real people I know about!

My daughter wrote many letters on Pastor’s behalf. Sarah Palin and Rubio were the BEST reply. My daughter (10 yrs) was thrilled. We are still praying for him!

As a small child I was required by my grandmother to watch Bro. Graham on TV in the 50′s after church, my age was about 7 or 8. You see grandmother had a influence on my life on being a christian. She said to me you sit, watch and listen to Bro. Graham and above all learn. God bless this man and that his letter will help.

  • Renny

Read his answer to Christiane Amanpour. He’s not going to help. He ‘has no power in these things’ ya know. It takes God to make the earth shake and the jail wall fall down.
