Lori does not dispute that the study was done, or what it really says. She merely disputes the importance of what is says, and uses very carefully cherry-picked comments from the studies Facebook page to prove her point. Too bad a bunch of jumped up strangers on Facebook donβt prove anything.
The long term effects of using physical force to achieve good behavior had been relentlessly studied and everyone in the scientific community knows it causes harm to the child. Harm that goes beyond a stinging bottom.
Using random Facebook comments to defend against a scientific study makes as much sense as drinking urine to cure a bladder infection, or claiming that the earth is flat because some nut job told you he cannot see the earthβs curvature from his hut.
