A wild tarantula here in Costa Rica during Hurricane Nate. As big as a spread adult hand, and likely not three pounds, he was frightened, washed out of his burrow, but definitely not having any of Doug Wilson’s nonsense about salvation. He was trembling with fright and was relocated outside on the covered patio quickly.

It’s gotten clearer lately that Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog knows about as much about other human beings as he knows about surfing, or aliens, or medicine. De nada. Doug defames poor little tarantulas by behaving like they are some extraodinary evil instead of another sentient being that you are free to dislike or like.

In the world of Doug it’s all binaries, black or white, with zero bits of shading. Too bad life is nothing like that at all.

To quote a commercial, that’s not how this works! This is not how any of this works at all~ Life outside of faith looks nothing like huddling in a dark basement. It’s life without the rituals and madness of much of Evangelical Quiverfull.

Doug’s little analogies and bad ideas demostrate again that he lives in a small echo chamber completely unconnected to the world, or nonbelievers, or anything not rolled, breaded and deep fried in toxic religious thought.

But I might have to download and review his food analogies book for NLQ. The quotes he shares on his blog also indicate just how far removed from reality he is. As someone with a severe peanut allergy I can say his ‘advice’ to a host serving a peanut-laden meal is just so wrong and would likely end up with a quick death for the guest. This is a man who should not be giving anyone any advice!

Per usual there’s zero of that love that Christ preached! Dudes, it’s not an option! The only thing that can be gleaned from Doug’s little rant is that he is deathly afraid of spiders.
