No way am I starting this post with a photo of this awful woman!

LastΒ  yesterday Jill Rodrigues of Rodrigues Family Ministries started trying to wrest the crown for most awful thing said about strange woman away from The Transformed Wife Lori Alexander. She might just have achieved it with this vile post.

Since this original posting Jill has amended her word β€œFat” to β€œSloppy”. No, they are not interchangeable, but it looks like Jill likely got significant push back, as she should have, for using that rude word.

Unfortunate words coming from a woman I’ve seen described several places as looking like a β€œLot Lizard” – a type of prostitute that hangs around truck stops. She’s married to a man with something less than a perfect body. Some might describe him with that same nasty sobriquet. All the while with a pile ofΒ  clearly too thin children who look like a stiff breeze might blew them away. Feed your children, and leave the judging to someone else. Judge not lest you be judged.

Speaking of judges, here’s someone fitting Jill’s description that looks pretty awesome to me Judge Stacy Hackenburg, blue hair and all.

You know you’re supposed to be judging someone by the content of their character, not the flesh suit that genetics, life and a million other factors stuck them with.

There’s so much I could say about the Amish, right down to the fact that they’d abhor what Jill wears and her grooming, judging it as the prideful sin of vanity.

Warning: This is a pure rant coming out of my rage and frustration yesterday. I keep seeing this anti mail voting nonsense out of the Quiverfull Evangelical brigade lining up with everything said by our lying criminal President so desperate to win a second term that he’s trying to remove the right to vote by mail. Jill Rodrigues seriously thinks if you cannot walk into a polling place you should be stripped of your rights as a citizen to vote.

It’s bad enough we have the Lori Alexanders and others claiming that women should not have the right to vote, even if it’s been established law for exactly a hundred years now.

Of all the offensive things Jill Rodrigues has posted online to me this might just be the most offensive. I say most sincerely here SHUT UP JILL!

Why? Well, because we’re voting by mail this year, like we have other years when we’ve lived overseas, first in the military, and now in retirement. This year only it became extremely difficult, what has been routine and easy in other times, including two other presidential elections!

What Jill and Donald Trump are trying to do is pure voter suppression and intimidation, which is a crime in the United States of America. It is obvious why he would be opposed to it because traditionally when there is ease in the process it increases voter turn out.

You know who the Homeland Security agency has stated is also behind the enormous push against absentee balloting? Russia. So Jill is promoting a Russian conspiracy theory, something we used to call treason.

The United States has had a long history of mail in voting, starting back during the Civil War era. It is the way that our brave men and women of the armed services away from home vote. Along with U.S. support staff around the world, working at embassies, and other U.S. government agencies. People working, living and retired overseas use the absentee ballot too.

In previous elections it was a simple process. You phone, drop a postcard or form into the mail, and shortly receive a ballot in plenty of time to fill out and mail back in. That’s how it’s always worked, with a few exceptions. I remember some friends in the military not receiving their ballots in time back in one presidential election in the 1990s.

This election was different. I had to take a lot of intentional steps to vote. Some may be because of the worldwide COVID 19 crisis. Example, there has been almost no mail between the United States and parts of Costa Rica since March. I have had exactly two pieces of mail myself here in Tamarindo. Only in the capital of San Jose has there been reliable mail service. No regular flights means no mail.

Because I was already somewhat uneasy about this election I’d filled out my vote by mail request forms and mailed them back in February. The form states they will let you know you are good to go, scheduled for a mailed ballot via email.Β  Nothing, no contact at all. I am not sure my elections board even got my forms.

Last month I decided to reach out to my election board through one of the β€œVote From Abroad” websites, and I requested a ballot be send via email because of the very limited mail because of COVID 19. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting. The ballot arrived several days ago in my email box.

There was just one problem. It requires us to mail it back to our election board in less than six weeks to be counted. Mail from here when there is no pandemic takes about a two month window if you mail it first class. Normally you are forbidden from sending it back any other way but local first class mail. No courier services like UPS or FedEx.

This and other questions ended up meaning I had contact with my local elections board, the vote abroad people and others. It was hard to get all the questions I had answered about these issues. Delaying my returning the ballot another couple of days, useless stress I’d never encountered before.

What I did find out that is not widely known or disseminated is that overseas this year because of the COVID crisis, the late arrival of the ballots, and the issues of getting them back that for the first time you are allowed to use courier services, or you can get them to the Embassy in San Jose where they will be transported to the United States and mailed to the various election boards. You’re allowed to put more than one ballot in the envelope, important for us because it meant that instead of paying two $40 express mail fees we could put both in one envelope and pay the once.

I have to thank Vote From Abroad and their tireless volunteers that helped out with my questions. They helped me figure out the best way to proceed in this very continuous confusing time. I thought it was interesting that one of the volunteers that reached out to me is a retired U.S. Ambassador.

A Shout Out to the Costa Rican postal service – the Correo and my favorite postmaster Jeanetta that got me set up with express mail to arrive in two weeks. The government here was even set up to issue U.S.P.S tracking numbers for all ballots sent back to the United States.

Funny how I don’t know the religious faith of any of those people that helped me with this difficult stressful voting. But I do of the people dedicated to helping the President commit election crimes. I have two words for Jill Rodrigues for helping make this difficult and stressful and they aren’t β€œThank you” or β€œHappy Autumn”.

Everybody please vote! We’re in the fight of our lives for democracy. The way this administration has gone after voting rights should scare all of us.

Feed your kids, Jill, feed them real bread.

Here we are, on the eve of one of the most crucial presidential elections of all time, and many in Quiverfull Evangelical realm are coming out of the woodworks to urge others to vote for Trump. Even in the wake of some rather awful reveals.

Michael Cohen’s book β€œDisloytal” was released, and he told of Trump’s willful manipulation of the Evangelical Christians. Apparently Trump thought they were all nuts, and laughed with Cohen over their beliefs, which he considered unreal.

β€œIn his memoir Disloyal, excerpts of which have emerged in the last few days, Mr Cohen calls Mr Trump β€œa cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man” – and describes him tearing into one of his most loyal constituencies after a group of Christian leaders prayed over him.

According to Mr Cohen, the president emerged from the session with contempt. β€œCan you believe that bulls**t?” he allegedly said. β€œCan you believe people believe that bulls**t?”

Several days ago Cohen bragged on his Twitter feed that he had exploded Evangelical support for President Trump. I had to reply, β€˜not so fast, buddy!’ What Cohen and others do not understand about the world of Evangelical Christians is once they latch onto an idea or hero they cannot be swayed with any amount of evidence, or facts.Β  In the time since his big reveals we see the Loris, the Nancys and the Jills doubling down on their support of the reelection of Donald Trump.

Even the release of Bob Woodward’s book β€œRage” did nothing to erode the enthusiasm of his Evangelical base. They literally doΒ  not care that Trump lied about the Coranavirus, and what he believed about it. That he willingly put the lives of millions of Americans at risk. They have been told by Jerry Falwell Jr. and others they look up to that Trump is God’s choice, and so he is theirs, none of that pesky thinking or logic involved. Pull the lever and grin like a fool.

Even the revelations that it is likely ICE and the administrations is giving immigrant women unwanted hysterectomies does not phase these people. People who claim to be all about large families and every possible baby born. Oh yeah, I keep forgetting β€œwhite” babies only.

Jill Rodrigues has been especially vocal, here are just a few of her many recent Instagram support posts.

Making fun of Pelosi forΒ  being unmasked at a salon while driving her circus of unfed plague rats around the midwest is especially hypocritical. Not even close to the same thing. Pelosi should have worn a mask.

Nowhere in the Bible does it expressly state that one is obligated to vote, or participate in politics. This is a matter of personal choice.

But what do you expect from someone that uses her sister’s accident as an attempt to get attention? Recently she posted about her sister and stated something at the very end that was completely inappropriate and horrifying, speaking to her very narcissistic problematic behaviors.

Yes, for some odd attention whoring reason Jill is trying to get pregnant so that she and her twenty something daughter can be pregnant together. This is the level of intellect we’re dealing with, that has influence over others. I would not trust this woman to care for a hamster, or even know how.

August 19, 2020

A few days ago I shared some updates after Jill’s daughter Nurie got married, and clearly Jill summoned up someone to defend her who was… errrm, very defensive when we started talking of a major kitchen remodel in the middle of the wedding. Pretty much anyone with a brain can see you should only really take on one big stressful happening at a time. Trust me, a kitchen model is very stressful and brings it’s on problems.

I got tired of eating things that could be cooked on a hot plate or microwave perched in the living room and I did not have quiverfull numbers of children to feed either. Just me.Then there was the time we had a flood at the house when the hot water tank came apart while we were out of town. Weeks of remodeling, and not just the kitchen. My daughter still talks about using the washer machine in the living room as a dining room table. Very stressful month, or couple of weeks.

The wedding, the kitchen, the barndominium conversion, the post wedding fun in go karts, and the whole lengthy COVID denial thing isn’t even close to the three things Jill is most famous for doing that belong on any shame-reel. Here are the top three. Try to explain these away.

Jill’s top 3 bad behaviors:

Crashing a strangers funeral and taking photos with the grieving family!

A mere two years ago Jill Rodrigues with kids in tow showed up in the Fordsville, Kentucky area and crashed the funeral for the children of the Henry family. Ivy, John and Ireland lost their lives when the family mobile home went up in flames, leaving behind grieving parents Christin and John Henry. Somehow Jill thought showing up at the funeral was appropriate. Facepalm.

To make it worse, this was a funeral and situation where the small town the Henry’s lived in started gossiping about the family and blaming the parents for the fire. Inserting oneself in drama is not the behavior Jesus would approve of.

The Baby Cages

Jill has shown on her Instagram account many times now the photographs of built in cribs with a lid in her RV. These things are illegal in many states. I’m pretty sure no safety effort was put into the installation.

The funeral for her sister Amy’s legs and the Selfies at the hospital

The selfies of the accident and aftermath are at Family Life. It’s such a bizarre thing to make public. Then Jill proceeded to set up a funeral for her sister’s limbs and wrote this poem she read:

β€œAmy was kind and a pretty woman
She had long, black, flowing hair
She was quiet and soft-spoken
Kind, compassionate and fair
She served faithfully her family
Busy rushing to and fro
To her children, she spoke gently
But when scolding, a firm β€œno!”
Her house was neat and tidy
Every item in its place
Never acting high and mighty
But a ready smile on her face.
Kevin was her soulmate
Together, they would hike
It was more than just fate
This pair that was alike
God put them together
This husband and this wife
To stay married forever
In love for all of life.
Amy served her loving savior
Jesus is his name
She sought to gain his favor
Never to bring him shame
No matter what the test
She tried never to fail
By always doing her best, like Jesus
With each driven nail.
On April 3rd, 2015:
A horrible car accident
Each 6 children with a scream
Wondered what it meant
Amy sat on her side of the car
Twisted body and broken neck
The ambulance seemed so far
While Kevin cared for his wife at the wreck
She was tempted to slip away
But God had other plans!
The first responders encouraged her to stay
Her children needed her to hold their hands
Amy’s still now guiding them through life
Kevin is so thankful today
That God spared his precious wife
We all are, I must say!
Life is now different than it used to be
Amy’s paralyzed from her mid-chest down
From her body, she longs to be free
But refuses to face life with a frown!
Though crippled in her body,
It has not diminished her resolve
To serve her loving savior,
Be a helpmeet to her mate,
Teach and guide her 6 children,
Fill their home with love, not hate
Though the going is not easy,
And the trial hard to bear,
Amy’s glad that others her story she may share
As Amy goes through this journey,
She has come to realize God has a purpose
In everything He does
Someday she’ll take hold the prize
As she does as Christ told
She is truly coming forth
As bright and shining gold!”

Somehow I missed this one in the build up to the wedding of her daughter Nurie to Nathan Keller. Jill openly shared this on Facebook and Instagram. It’s a story pile cobbled together like she’s come up with it that has been circulating all over social media. Facebook hates this faux information so much they have taken to warning groups that dissimulate it, even to debunk it, that they are in danger of having the group removed.

The cotton swabs thing has been thoroughly debunked a number of places now. The strict way that labs collect samples, log them into the system, label them and provide a strict chain of custody renders this one impossible. That’s without even adding in the issues of how insurance and state oversight works in testing, tracing and billing. Not remotely possible!

This is another impossibility. A nurse giving out false health information would be liable for all types of problems giving out any health information over the phone without verifying the identity of the caller because of this wonderful little law called HIPAA – the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Snopes has put together a nice page sharing the flood of false information that is driving these plague rat type people to ignore safety measures and screech about voting for Trump afterward.

Politifact has their own page debunking all the prominent lies like this being spread primarily on Facebook. Knowledge in the time of COVID 19 is power.

The only thing more contagious that the Coronavirus is the lying embraced about the virus by the religious right. This is a form of lying. But I will say that Nurie’s wedding did expose one thing, that it’s likely that Jill is so sheltered that she does not understand much about the world outside of her IFB cult bubble.

Making or keeping America great again in the middle of a pandemic involves caring for others by masking, social distancing, washing your hands, using hand sanitizer, taking proper hygiene measure, staying home except for going to essential things like getting groceries, or going to the doctor. It does not involve gallivanting everywhere maskless, holding a wedding reception that violates Ohio health department orders to have masked professional servers dole out the food. Plague rats behave like Jill!

Screen cap from the Rodrigues Instagram.

For nearly a week now I’ve sat back, thought, and cried just a little bit, once the rumors at Reddit emerged about the reality of Timmy Rodrigues life. The person posting claimed to be someone from his life in Wisconsin. What they said made everything everyone has speculated about the Rodrigues family look possible.

I try not to think about Jill, or even post about them much because their influence is rather slight. Someone said something the other day about Jill paving her own road to hell and I had to quip that she would merely redecorate hell and try to sell Satan some Plexus.

Ancient history for those not familiar with the Rods and Timmy. The Rodrigues clan is a large Quiverfull familyΒ  that seems to sum up the worst of Quiverfull. Large family without a steady income. Mommy Jill sells Plexus, one of those MLM supplement companies that has been in trouble with the Food and Drug Administration for false claims and dangerous ingredients. Good Patriarch David prints religious tracts as his ministry and the entire family travels months a year in a small RV as they go from church to church β€˜ministering’. They literally beg for money to support the family instead of holding jobs like normal folks.Β  They call it a β€œministry” Trusting God to provide should never mean attempting to shirk working.

ThisΒ  year they moved to Ohio from West Virginia in the middle of a number of CPS visits over possible food insufficiency. Dad is plump, Mom is normal, and the kids are bone thin and unhealthy looking. Which we would not even know if Jill wasn’t addicted to posting every single thing they do on social media.

And then there’s Timmy. The eldest son. The first one to leave the nest, who is now back home. Timmy first attended one of the Moody Bible colleges to learn to be a bush pilot missionary.Β  He had to leave after a year. Jill raised a huge row over it being because the college lied about the costs. The college responded by pointing out that all costs are clearly spelled out on their website and handbook.

Then Timmy went off to a college in Wisconsin, focused on the same curriculum, that was cheaper. We know very little about his time there, except that he bought a ring at a pawn shop. He recently returned home. We’d assumed it was because COVID 19 had shuttered most school systems.

The rumors say he flunked out, which is entirely possible as we know his educationΒ  before college was the Jill Rodrigues homeschool. Jill herself was homeschooled apparently. It’s likely he did struggle with aspects of the curriculum. I’ve seen homeschooled kids struggle when they reach community college with core basics like Math and Science.

They say that there was a courtship between Timmy and this unnamed girl. A courtship unapproved of by Jill.

Is this one of the Dingus family’s daughters? Found on Reddit.

The poster went on to describe something of a ugly power struggle between Timmy and his parents without saying the root cause. Mom and Dad were furious and yelling at him. She went on to say that not only was there food insecurity in the household, but that the children were kept up to all hours of the day and night and not allowed proper rest. Followed by the fact that they were harshly disciplined ala Michael Pearl and severely beaten. Great, a baseball team sized family of children underfed, cowering in fear while exhausted. That just sounds so much like some Good Christian Parenting does it? /sarcasm.

But I want to talk about Timmy and Jill’s parenting of him specifically. Of all the kids in the Rod household Jill seems the most devoted to Timmy, to a dangerous controlling level. Worrying enmeshment and possibly even an Oedipal complex going on there. This all smacks of emotional incest.

We have seen toxic levels of control going on in so many Quiverfull families, but Jill seems to take the rotten cake with her eldest son. He’s twenty years old, fully legally an adult. He can vote, he can sign up for the military, get married, buy a gun, alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets yet is not allowed to have his own separate social media accounts unlinked from his parents.

What we have seen is Jill hanging all over him in social media. His social media accounts have a photo of him being hugged by his mother, with dear old Jill front and center in a way that seems to indicate he is nothing without her. She relentlessly promotes his actions that she picked out for him, trying now to push him as a singing star. He is allowed nothing on his own, everything has Jill front and center. Just like a narcissistic enmeshed mother.

Β

Jill openly treats Timmy like an appendage of herself instead of a separate entity with thoughts, likes, and dislikes, emotions completely separate from her own. It’s like he’s another arm or leg to her, only there to reflect back the glory that she thinks is owed to her. For her the end goal of parenting is to raise good little worshipers who worship and glorify her. Just look at the posts she makes even over other’s holidays that she turns to be all about her. I fear for daughter Nurie and her upcoming wedding because of the self-promoting tendencies of her mother, and the likelihood of some disgraceful trying to upstage the bride.

Β

Oh, it happens. In my own wedding it happened, even if my mother was not enmeshed, just merely deeply disturbed. She turned up at my wedding wearing a bare to the navel, and slit up the sides red satiny dress. All eyes were on her, and she gloried in it. To this day, nearly 34 years later,Β  my large Louisiana family speaks of my wedding as the day my mother showed up wearing that red dress. I expect, knowing the dysfunction of Jill, that at Nurie’s wedding we’re be treated to something even more inappropriate in her attempts to turn the spotlight to herself.

Her behavior is troubling in that she does not seem to realize that the entire goal of parenting is to raise fully functional adults, who operate independently of their parents, who pay bills, who work jobs, who have relationships. It’s not to glorify yourself. It’s is genuinely not about you are all. It’s about the world at large, about making sure your child is a good person, a valued member of society. If you happen to be proud of them it’s gravy, it’s extra on top of knowing you did the right thing in the best way you knew how.

Only a broken narcissist with delusions of grandeur and power would approach parenting in the enmeshed narcissistic helicopter parent manner. Making it all about them, instead of what is best for the child. This is how we end up with young adults that cannot β€œadult”, broken and struggling with simple things like boundaries, relationships, careers and in every facet of their lives.

All kids go through an Oedipal phase of being enamored by the opposite sex parent, but they usually grow out of it by six years old, not twenty. Enmeshed parenting with someone with narcissistic tendencies prolongs that stage and pretty much wreaks havoc once the child starts to assert some independence and step away from the enmeshing parent. Like it looks like Timmy attempted before being forced home, to be a satellite in the orbit of his mother. A mother that spends money on makeup and hair dye instead of feeding or parenting her children.

Poor Timmy. He is trapped now, the escape is going to be nearly impossible unless he breaks with the family. Everything said on Reddit by the friend sounds like Timmy had started to wake up, realize that his life with his parents wasn’t ideal, and take at least a few steps away during his time in Spokane, Washington and Appleton, Wisconsin. Jill likely shut it all down once she realized her power over him was slipping. It’s going to be so hard for him to escape now that he’s back home without a plan.

Poor those other raggamuffin-looking children. At least with the others she does not seem quite so over invested emotionally like she does with Timmy. Except for with poor Nurie and her upcoming nuptials. I feel so bad for all those kids. Some counselor is going to be able to build their summer home on the billable hours that family could generate.

May 13, 2020

Others, like Captain Cassidy of Roll to Disbelieve have noted that there is something inherent about multi level marketing, or MLMs, that Evangelical Christians are particularly vulnerable to. I don’t know if it’s because they are already immured into a society that teaches any deep analytical thinking is a sin, or because they are just more gullible. I am pretty sure that financial desperation plays a large part as well.

Let’s look at how that happens for many women stuck in the subculture of Quiverfull. Lots of kids, staying home to raise those kids and homeschool them. Likely married young without many skills, or much of an education. Stuck at home all the time while the husband works one or several jobs trying to support his huge brood of children.

Feeling guilty for not significantly contributing to the family finances, falling further and further into debt, finding buying used and saving the differenceΒ  like Michelle Duggar suggests does not put any extra chicken legs on the family dining room table. Trapped by a theology that says mothers cannot work except from home they sometimes fall into the exploitative clutches of the MLM world.Β  And they lack the education and life skills to sense they are being used by an over enthusiastic peer.

It does not matter which company, Tupperware, Young Living, Younique, Plexus, that one that sells the ugly loud-colored clothes that makes you look like you got dressed in a dark closet. They are all the same, and all predatory to the extreme. Preying upon a populace without the resources to know what it is they are getting into.

One of the biggest problems is the constant pressure to perform. The endless sales meetings you must attend, the fact that they spent enormous time pressuring you to recruit others. There are many of the same high pressure tactics that are using in high demand religions so it feels very comfortably familiar to the participants.

And that performance comes at a cost. Sometimes it’s the high cost of finding out that you suddenly owe the IRS much more money because they are calculating every single bonus, prices and discounts as earned taxable business income. Or having to order thousands of dollars worth of the product to stay actively receiving payment from the parent company.

Sometimes the costs squeeze already tight family finances to the breaking point. Taking food out of the mouths of children. Which brings us to Quiverfull’s leading practitioner of Plexus, Jill Rodrigues.

A screen cap of the newest Plexus produce Jill is promoting:

…and today’s relentless promotion of it…

There’s just one problem with this new product. The costs associated with it.

From Google, but seen several other places, including a quick glimpse with these same numbers at the Plexus site.

Yep, that’s right, over a hundred bucks each no matter how you slice it. Beyond the means of many struggling families in the Quiverfull world. Jill is pushing this product and using it. But at what costs?

Likely straight out of the food budget. As I have stated before many photos of the Rodrigues children make it seem like all of them have serious nutritional deficits.Β  In a family that sold a house in one state (West Virginia), and up and moved to a barn-like cheaper looking house in another state (Ohio) without the same expanding laws on homeschooling and children’s protective services. A family contacted repeated by CPS in WV for possible food insufficiency among those same children.

Robbing Peter (household support) to pay Paul (that scamming MLM) It this is true it’s one of the worse ideas involving supporting an MLM I’ve seen. Jill has pretty much stopped showcasing meals on her social media due to the speculations, but yesterday she posted a series of rather telling photos involving her two oldest daughters β€˜graduation’ from what looks like an online Bible program.

Two full sized cupcakes for the graduates and a pile of tiny ones for everyone else. You just know that without being told that David likely ate half of the smaller ones, leaving the rest of the kids to each have one. If money is so tight in this household that they only bought two large cupcakes and a bunch of the minis I’m not sure why no one went to Aldi’s or the Dollar Tree and bought a box of cake mix and icing, or simply took the cheapest route and did it from scratch.

Take a look at this. The two strangest staged photos of eating that is not actually eating.

First Bride to be Nurie:

Then Kaylee:

That’s just such strange body language and maneuvering not to get their mouths on the actual icing, which leads me to wonder if the bigger cupcakes were for the two parents instead.

The rather too thin graduates. There is no way they gorged on full sized cupcakes:

Whenever I see these kids I start wishing I could snatch them up, and simply feed them. Years of being underfed can lead to some devastating chronic health conditions.

I know money has to be painfully tight right now in that household. The Coronavirus means they cannot go out and literally sing for their suppers. It’s unlikely that David Rodrigues is printing enough tracts in a time when everyone is home to feed the family. I somehow doubt that the Rods would lower themselves to filing for food stamps, or going to a food bank either, both of which are specifically set up to prevent starvation, focused on keepingΒ  your children fed and healthy.

Back to that obscenely expensive face cream. A site with the name Diet Spotlight did a review of the cream, examined the ingredients, and listed better and cheaper alternatives with roughly the same ingredients. They concluded it was likely overpriced.

When you’re stooping to feeding your children tiny cupcakes for a family celebration while your husband and you are a long way from skinny you should be investigated by CPS. Those poor kids. I just want to feed them. I get it, I’m being mean and speculative here, but I’m sick to death of seeing these poor kids that look like lollipops, huge heads and tiny bodies. I am heartsick at seeing Jill use them as props in her narcissist behaviors. This needs to stop.

This is a real world consequence when a Quiverfull mother goes off the deep end to promote her MLM over everything else.

Shades of the infamous Turpin family without the filthy environment. Jill Rodrigues does give off a Louise Turpin vibe.

May 5, 2020

A few mornings ago I saw the most unusual sight. A squirrel leaping about. Not too unusual, right, because this is what squirrels do? Except this squirrel was not doing anything that made sense. It was leaping about at high speed on the ground, on to the tree, on the ground, on to the tree over and over again. Unconnected to anything food related or predator adjacent. Just crazy hopping around like it had gotten into someone’s Adderal stash and had no idea what to do next, just motion for sheer motion’s sake.

When I witnessed things like this I am always reminded of Quiverfull want to be cultural enforcer Jill Rodriques. JIll and her constant relentless motion via posting reams of photos with her illogical assumptions, throwing shade anyone else not in her group. I suspect the same thought processes in the squirrel is how Jill operates.

Part of me is tempted just to label Jill Rodrigues a Covidiot for her previous posts mocking the stay at home orders. Then she was radio silent on social media. Now we have her overwhelming pile of parenting in the time of Coronavirus social media posts, starting at the park.

The park you say? That place that Ohio has closed down? Ohio governor Mike DeWine apparently merely shuttered park offices, while leaving the parks themselves open for use by the public, while they are practicing social distancing and proper masking. At least according to the governor’s office.

We’ve seen Jill taking the very normal action of taking her brood to the park combined with the very unnormal action of witnessing to strangers and violating the social distancing orders. She’s still at it. More crazy squirrel leaping about mindlessly.

Jill throws a bone to the newly homeschooling mamas to start and then goes right to β€œWhy we are superior to you.” mode. Now she’s posting how much more she and her husband David love their children than the average nonbeliever.Β  I don’t know, but I have yet to see a photo where it seems David is involved with the kids. David just seems to exist in a weird bubble removed from everyone and everything based upon what we see in photos.

This belief thatΒ  non Christians are better to their pets than their kids is one that regularly circulates around Evangelical and Fundamental circles. Even as everything we’ve witnessed within that sphere involving animals seems to run counter to the Bible’s insistence that a righteous person cares for their animals. Do they think we sell our kids at yard sales like they sometimes do with their cats and dogs?

Those goals are less β€œshallow” than dragging your kids around COVID ridden areas, treating your animals like they are disposable, underfeeding your children, running from children’s protective services, mocking a pandemic, and behaving like a 12 year old trying to glom up all the attention with crazy tilted word pictures.

She’s alleging here that parents not in her high demand religious group do not do any of these things for their children. Simply not true.

Be as absolutely unthinking as possible.

One of the biggest lies promoted by Quiverfull is that mothers outside of their group do not embrace their roles as mothers. This is simply not true. There is no one right way to mother or not mother. There are as many ways to mother as there are to cook. Language like this is merely divisive, shaming and blaming, intending to heap guilt on those not doing it her way.

Wow, for once some mercy and admission that it is okay not to be a meth-fueled smiling robotic mom spouting Bible verses and swilling Plexus.

If only motherhood was that simple, read a Bible story and go meet Jesus! This seems particularly clueless, trite and surface in the face of this pandemic when people are trying to figure out what the next few months, the next year will likely hold. It’s a bit more complex than any piece of advice she gave in the last few days.

Look, I get it. It’s a stressful time filled with so much uncertainty. Even the ideas surrounding the virus change from day to day. People are stressed out. Stressed out folks tend to react in all sorts of irrational ways. It has to be weighing on Jill that she and the family cannot go out and sing for their supper now with the shelter in place orders.

Part of what is also going on here is that Jill is a perfect storm of 2nd generation Quiverfull homeschooled kid. Married off at 18 years old to a man over 30 without any life experience. Just homeschooling and isolation. Jill is the poster child of what you get if you follow that movement into the next generation. Which will make it even more interesting to see what happens with the 3rd generation homeschooled kids like Nurie and Timmy Rodrigues. This is not a world view or lifestyle that tends to produce anything but paler and paler carbon copies of the original person embracing the movement.

Is this what the pandemic is reducing the Quiverfull moms to right now?

After reading Jill and a pile of others in Quiverfull my question I am pondering during the pandemic is why is it so much easier for these folks to believe a wild conspiracy theory than it is to believe in an unpleasant truth?

Oh good golly these folks are breaking my brain again. I need a Quarantine Coffee…

At least if Jill is just playing her banjo in front of her Miscarriage Wall she’s not openly spreading possible disease.

Heads up! Cindy Kunsman and others have been attempting to hold grifter Jill Rodrigues feet to the quarantine fire with the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Many are now hearing back from the jurisdictions involved. It’s not good news for anyone but Jill. Good job taking lead on this Cindy!

Pennsylvania Health Department says that their hands are tied as Jill is not a resident there. There are no plans in place to punishing roving religious nuts, banning revivals and conferences. But what can you expect from a state filled with Mennonites, Amish and a pile of fundamentalist religions.

Ohio was a different kettle of fish entirely. The person at the health department said at this time they cannot investigate religious gatherings. The state website and the governor both state that churches and religious gatherings are not exempt from the stay at home order. But apparently there is confusion, disagreement and lack of agreement at the state level and agencies and people in the government are at loggerheads as to if people can be investigated and fined for unsafe behaviors.

You have to remember that Ohio is sort of the buckle of the Bible Belt. There are tons of churches and ministries there, and apparently they’ve been told that churches and church activities are to be held exempt and not investigated at this time.

The person Cindy spoke with wearily agreed that this is a serious situation that isn’t being taken seriously enough by the general public. But his hands are tied in investigating Jill Rodrigues at this time.Β  That may change rapidly however.

He did say that they were swamped at this time by complaints of many violating the stay at home ban. He’d also seen before the many photos of Jill and family out and about during the stay at home order.

This afternoon or evening Ohio’s governor Mike DeWine will be giving a public briefing on the efforts in the state to curtail the Coronavirus. It is also expected he will extend the stay at home order beyond the initial April 6th expiration.Β  It is also rumored that he will announce that fines and jail time could be levied against those willfully breaking the stay at home law.

It wouldn’t cause Jill to be fined for her conferences and lack of all social distancing at past Bible studies. But it would come into play if she decided again to traipse out and kiss babies, or drag her quadriplegic sister out to shill her ministry. Other states have fines from a few hundred dollars to nearly a thousand for quarantine violators. Just the Rods being busted once en masse mean a lot less chicken legs for their children who already look like they experience food insecurity. But on the flip side, no more Kit Kat bars for their daddy either.

Sadly Jill’s sister Amy Foster is ill at this time. No word on what it is.

How are things going where you are? They announced here that starting Saturday morning at midnight Costa Rica will be having a 5 pm curfew and vehicle curfew.Β  You’ll only be allowed to drive one day per week, the day determined by your license plate number. They are taking this rather seriously here, and rates haven’t climbed, but stayed steady.

What are you reading now? I am in the middle of books on Winston Churchill and Weird Al Yankovic,

Have you observed people behaving like this is still no threat? Yesterday I saw a lady coughing over and over and over again at the store without bothering to cover her mouth in any way. She also wasn’t wearing a mask. They are now saying that coughs can spread germs for 26 feet, so much for social distancing.

A little something I learned last night on Chris Cuomo’s CNN show and confirmed by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. The use of a cheap little pulse oxymeter during any ailment you think might be Coronavirus can help. It measures the oxygen levels in your blood, which will fall quickly if you have Corona and not the flu. They run about thirty bucks. I have and use mine daily because of the asthma, but did not know they could be helpful in determining when you need medical care and possible hospitalization during the virus.

Here’s what mine looks like if you are not familiar with this item. It’s the blue thing.

Stay well folks!

You may or may not know that Ohio’s governor issued a β€œStay at Home” order for all people not considered β€˜essential’ starting last Sunday. Meaning if you’re a fireman, or a grocery store clerk, or a nurse or any of the professions on the list you go to work. If you’re an off-key warbling revivalist trussed up in loads of polyester and makeup while shilling Plexus you should stay home.

But like a bacterial load on a hot salami sandwich Jill Rodrigues went out today to preach, and handle babies. Ignoring all social distancing rules, and the law in Ohio like a potential Typhoid Mary.

Jill may claim that the β€œStay at Home” order does not mean churches too, but I am seeing nothing on the website discussing the order that indicates that churches are exempt.

All three of these adults are breaking the law, and risking the health of not just that tiny baby, but any elderly or sick people they may be around in the future. This is utterly hateful to do in this time when squashing the illness curve is crucial. Irresponsible, uncaring, unloving and dangerous.

The governor of Ohio begged churches in a social media statement to not meet, to use streaming services and technology only. Churches are NOT exempt from this order! If David thinksΒ  he read something exempting them from their responsibility to isolate then perhaps he needs reading lessons.

Then Jill tries to justify holding a conference last weekend when many places and churches had the good sense to close their doors and offer internet only meetings and services. Followed by Plexus shilling. It’s still illegal to make health claims about Plexus combating any illness.

Last week when they did the conference Ohio was not under the β€œStay at Home” law. Now they are.

It is a fact that one of the women at the conference has since tested positive for COVID 19. Jill has been exposed, but she’s holding babies, going door to door, going to Walmart, possibly exposing oodles of people.

I mistakenly said it was Jill’s kids who were sick now. It’s actually her sister’s children, who were ill. I do not know if the kids were at the conference, but let’s be real here. None of these people can afford a sitter for their broods, which go everywhere with them.

That’s quite the little crime spree there, Jill.

Jill and David Rodrigues are rumored to have run from West Virginia to Ohio because of CPS and some of the newer homeschooling laws. If they keep acting like this they may face something more serious than a simple CPS investigation. Some states are prosecuting people for trying to infect others, ignoring quarantines, and risking the health of others.

Who would Jesus infect? Hopefully no one, He’d have sense enough to stay home. Worship God or not, but do it legally from a safe distance. This is no plot of Satan, or liberal media. It’s a pandemic with a dangerous virus that spreads easily during close contact.
