Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein–the two Washington Post reporters who helped break open the truth about the Watergate burglary that led to U.S. President Richard Nixon’s resignation–have now penned a Post article today that compares Watergate and what I call Trumpgate. The article’s title pretty well sums up the piece, “Woodward and Bernstein thought Nixon defined corruption. Then came Donald Trump.” It begins as follows: “President George Washington, in his celebrated 1796 Farewell Address, cautioned that American democracy was fragile.... Read more

Excellent ball striker Billy Horschel negotiated the exacting requirements of Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, with a blistering seven-under par 65 to take a sizable lead of five strokes heading into tomorrow’s last round. On the course that Jack built, aka Jack Nicklaus, the hot and cold 35-year old Horschel, already a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, started fast with a chip-in birdie on the first hole and never looked back. Horschel is the kind of guy... Read more

Next week, on Thursday, the first of eight televised hearings conducted by the House committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riot will begin. We will find out just how much more President Donald Trump and his administration lied to the American public and tried to cover up their misdeeds, especially regarding their efforts to overturn the results of a free and fair election and causing the Capitol riot. My book, Bible Predicts Trump Fall,  is mostly a collection of posts... Read more

Elon Musk–the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX plus the world’s richest man–has offered to buy Twitter because he loves to tweet. He has over 90 million Twitter followers, except who knows how many of those are bots, which is something he wants to clean up. Musk tweeted this week that he has always voted Democrat, but no more. He says the Democratic Party has become the party of “division and hate.” Well, Elon, at least they keep it in the... Read more

Yesterday, Israel unveiled its new blood bank in Tel Aviv. It is so sophisticated that there’s nothing like it in the world. Interesting to Americans, it is named the Marcus National Blood Services Center because this $135 million project, that took four years to build, is named after the American Bernie Marcus. He and his wife Billi donated $35 million to its construction. Bernard Marcus is a 93-year old Jewish immigrant from Russia who co-founded Home Depot. This blood bank... Read more

Jesus was a citizen of Nazareth in Galilee. Yet, like any righteous Jewish man, he attended many of the feasts at Jerusalem. Once, he was at the Feast of Dedication and walking in the temple. We read in the Gospel of John, “So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, ‘How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly'” (John 10.24 NRSV). This question, about whether Jesus was the Messiah, reflects... Read more

Sam Burns came from seven strokes back of the lead to shoot a five-under par 65 today to win the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge golf tournament at Colonial Country in Forth Worth, Texas. But his regulation play of 72 holes only got him in a playoff with current Masters champion Scottie Scheffler. Burns bested Scheffler on the first playoff hole of their sudden-death match on the par-four 18th hole by holing a 38-foot birdie putt from off the back... Read more

Religious people usually have a theological framework upon which they base their belief in some kind of worldview, even if they’re not very aware of it. It certainly is true of Christianity. Many Christians adopt some type of systematic theology upon which they base their religious beliefs. And in the case of Christians and some religious Jews, they view their sacred text, the Bible, in this way as well. It thus becomes difficult for especially Christians to read the... Read more

The Associated Press reported yesterday that China approved over two years ago the mRNA vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech, but it still refuses to administer the shots due to its own pride in trying to produce such a vaccine itself, which it has not been able to do. Fosun Pharma had agreed to distribute the Pfizer vaccine to China. The AP article states: “Now health experts say that delay — a result of putting politics and national pride above... Read more

No joke! I’ve blogged about some of Donald Trump’s phobias. He readily admits that he has at least one, that he is a clean freak. Recently, it became more known that he has a phobia for people throwing fruit at him. He said in one of his political rallies, in 2015, that “doing fruit,” meaning throwing it, is “dangerous stuff.” He further said, “If you see someone getting ready to throw a tomato, just knock the crap out of them,... Read more
