On Roseanne & Outrageous, Slanderous Language

On Roseanne & Outrageous, Slanderous Language May 30, 2018

What Roseanne Barr said about Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett (“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj”) was outrageous and despicable and inexcusable, and she arguably should pay the price she has paid (her show being canceled). If I were a sponsor, I certainly wouldn’t support a show starring a woman who said what she did.

That said, she in no way represents me or conservatives, simply because she supports President Trump. She’s no conservative at all, but rather a long-time pro-abort, supporter of same-sex “marriage” and political extremist or radical (recently of the Green Party). She’s far more like a liberal than a conservative. Oh, by the way, I never saw her show in the old days; nor have I watched its recent revival.

Would that liberals (particularly Big Media and Democratic politicians) were also held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about Republicans and conservatives, Christians, and pro-lifers.

Would that Never Trumpers were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about President Trump and anyone who supports him.

Would that opponents of Pope Francis were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about him.

Would that anti-Catholics were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about the Catholic Church.

Would that anti-Protestants were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about Protestants.

Would that far-right troglodytes / conspiratorialists were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about African-Americans, Mexicans, Muslims; anyone who differs from them.

Would that atheists were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about Christians and Christianity.

Would that Christians who don’t know apologetics (or effective evangelism) from a hole in the ground were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about atheists and other non-Christians.

Would that anti-Semites were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about Jews.

Would that pro-lifers were held accountable for the outrageous, untrue things they regularly say about each other.

Etc., etc.

I oppose all lies and slander wherever they come from. If someone is on my “side” (orthodox Catholic, pro-lifer, conservative / distributist, moral traditionalist) and they say something slanderous about anyone else (of whatever persuasion), I utterly oppose it, and have no problem saying this publicly. I’m not muzzled by anyone and I am my own man; always have been.

If we all felt that way, there would be a lot less slander out there, and the world would be a better place.
