Another week, another episode of Beyond A.D. This week’s guests include actor Juan Pablo di Pace (who plays Jesus in A.D. The Bible Continues), pastor Jud Wilhite and worship leader Christine D’Clario. The episode also features a musical performance by D’Clario and a new clip from tonight’s episode of A.D. Check it out below the jump.

Here is the episode itself:

A few highlights:

  • Host Jason Kennedy asks why Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene first and not to Peter or John (c. the 6-minute mark). Actually, according to Paul and Luke, Jesus did appear to Peter first; and according to Matthew, Jesus appeared to several women simultaneously before he appeared to the male disciples.
  • Di Pace discusses how, in his performance, Jesus before the Crucifixion and Jesus after the Resurrection could not be more different (c. the 9-minute mark).
  • D’Clario says A.D.’s depiction of the Ascension was “the best Ascension ever,” and di Pace talks about how the scene was shot (c. the 23-minute mark).
  • Di Pace says the #HotJesus hashtag “belittles” the message of Jesus as well as di Pace’s experience playing the character (c. the 25-minute mark).
  • Di Pace says Jesus asked for something to eat after the Resurrection because he was “hungry”, according to the Bible (c. the 30-minute mark). Actually, according to Luke, Jesus ate a fish to prove that he had a body and was not just a ghost.
  • A new clip from tonight’s episode (c. the 32-minute mark).

D’Clario’s musical performance has also been posted as a standalone clip:
