Watch: Saul quotes a popular passage from the book of Romans in a new clip from A.D. The Bible Continues

A.D. The Bible Continues may not make much use of the autobiographical material in Paul’s epistles — it certainly didn’t in last week’s episode — but it definitely makes use of the teachings from his epistles, as we can see in a new clip from this series.

In the clip below, which comes from the episode airing this Sunday, Paul — or Saul, as he is still called — recites a slightly edited version of Romans 8, a passage that the historical Paul wrote about 20 years after the events of this episode:

Note: the Saul of this series recites these words to Tabitha, a character who never meets him in the Bible. And you get the sense, watching this, that the other apostles are still trying to figure out what to make of this former persecutor of theirs.
