A Biblical Defense of Catholicism (#1; completed in May 1996; published by Lulu in Oct. 2001 and by Sophia Institute Press in June 2003, 297 pages). Foreword by Servant of God Fr. John A. Hardon, S. J.
Demonstration of the unique harmony of Catholic doctrines with Holy Scripture, using a blend of catechesis and apologetics. It includes Bible passages from 229 of the 260 chapters in the New Testament. It’s one of my four bestsellers in the Catholic field and probably the most well-known of my books.

More Biblical Evidence for Catholicism (#2; published by Lulu in Feb. 2002; also Logos / Faithlife / Verbum in March 2012, 181 pages).
Biblical arguments in support of distinctively Catholic doctrinal positions, with an emphasis on informality and dialogue; mostly drawn from real discussions.

Bible Conversations: Catholic-Protestant Dialogues on the Bible, Tradition, and Salvation (#3; published by Logos in June 2002; also Logos / Faithlife / Verbum in March 2012, 218 pages).
Perhaps the three “hottest” topics in Catholic apologetics are dealt with in a dialogue format, from actual discussions engaged in online with Protestants.

Development of Catholic Doctrine: Evolution, Revolution, or an Organic Process? (#4; published by Lulu in June 2002; also Logos / Faithlife / Verbum in March 2012, 198 pages). Why does the Catholic Church and her doctrines appear different in many ways from the early Church? Development of doctrine is a crucial explanatory key. This was the single largest factor in my own Catholic conversion.

Mere Christian Apologetics (#5; published by Lulu in Sep. 2002, 289 pages). A work of general Christian apologetics, without Catholic “distinctives”: intended as an introductory treatment of many of the basic apologetics issues.

Christian Worldview vs. Postmodernism
(#6; published by Lulu in Sep. 2002, 218 pages). Devoted to an apologetic of general Christianity, over against secularism, agnosticism, and atheism; demonstrating that Christianity is rational and plausible.

The Catholic Answer Bible
(#7; published by Our Sunday Visitor — the largest Catholic publisher — in September 2002). I wrote all of the apologetic commentary: 44 “inserts” on various topics. The link includes these inserts only. Each devotes one page to common apologetics issues, with explanation, and Scripture and Catechism passages. In April 2005 it was revised as The New Catholic Answer Bible, with 44 additional articles and expansion of mine, by Dr. Paul Thigpen. In March 2011 it was released with the revised NAB text. The latter version is one of my four bestselling books in the field, and both have an Imprimatur (from different people).

Catholic and biblical analyses of the family-related issues of abortion, contraception, extramarital sex, divorce, homosexuality, and radical feminism.

Reflections on Radical Catholic Reactionaries (#9; published by Lulu in Dec. 2002; rev. Aug. 2013, 145 pages). Critique of “traditions of men falsely made out to be the only proper traditions of the Church”: the faulty and erroneous use of dogma and private judgment.

Twin Scourges: Thoughts on Anti-Catholicism & Theological Liberalism (#11; published by Lulu in June 2003, 167 pages).
Critique of two very serious errors: that Catholicism is not truly Christian, and that one can pick and choose or modify Catholic doctrines as they so choose.

Orthodoxy and Catholicism: A Comparison (#12; published by Lulu in July 2004; 3rd edition: heavily revised in July 2015, with co-author, Byzantine Catholic priest, Fr. Daniel Dozier; the latter was also published by Logos / Faithlife / Verbum in January 2018, 335 pages).
Examination of key differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy (especially in its anti-Catholic form), due largely to the split in the eleventh century.

The Catholic Verses: 95 Bible Passages That Confound Protestants (#13; published by Sophia Institute Press in August 2004, 235 pages).
A critical look at how Protestant apologists deal with (or rather, try to dismiss) Bible passages used by Catholics in defense of doctrines that Protestants reject. One of my four bestselling books in the field.

The One-Minute Apologist: Essential Catholic Replies to Over Sixty Common Protestant Claims (#14; published by Sophia Institute Press in May 2007, 143 pages).

The Bible Tells Me So: A Catholic Apologist Challenges Protestants with Scripture (#50; 2nd expanded edition was published in January 2019 by Chorabooks, 155 pages). I demonstrate in 30 chapters that sola Scriptura, the Catholic rule of faith, is logically circular and fatally weak, and never believed by the Church fathers.
*
The Word Set in Stone: How Archaeology, Science, and History Back Up the Bible (#51; published on 15 March 2023 by Catholic Answers Press, 271 pages). I deal with specific objective matters in relation to the text of the Bible that can be addressed by archaeology or other forms of science, starting with premises that Christians and non-Christians accept in common. I sought to “defeat the defeaters” offered up by biblical skeptics, anti-theist atheists (who specialize in and constantly focus on criticizing the Bible, Christians, Christianity), and archaeological minimalists.
*
The Word Set in Stone: “Volume Two”More Evidence of Archaeology, Science, and History Backing Up the Bible (#52; available for free on my blog: 163 sections as of this writing; first presented on 25 May 2023, with future additions to be added as new material is discovered). I continue the theme of the first volume, addressing many additional biblical topics.
*
Inspired!: 198 Supposed Biblical Contradictions Resolved (#53; available for free on my blog, completed on 3 June 2023, 140 pages). My solutions or resolutions in this book came about and were stimulated as a result of direct challenges from atheists. The material found herein is entirely of that nature: based on becoming familiar with a charge made by an atheist and then responding to it with a rebuttal.
*
Justification: A Catholic Perspective (#54; available for free on my blogcompleted on 30 August 2023). Debate with co-author Brazilian Calvinist Francisco Tourinho, who was a worthy opponent and earned my respect. It was a pleasure to interact with him. He stated that I “debated well” and “used good arguments on several occasions,” and “confirmed” myself as “an excellent apologist”. We covered the topic very extensively, with hundreds of Bible passages considered and debated. Perfect for anyone who wonders who possesses the fuller and more biblical truth in this regard: Catholics or Calvinists. Read both sides from passionate advocates of each!
*
God of Love, Fire & Light: A Biblical Defense of Purgatory (#55: co-written with Kenny Burchard): published on 21 November 2024 by Bridge Builders Press, 140 pages). This book is our way of sharing how we came to love and appreciate this doctrine; drawing heavily from Scripture and also from illuminating Catholic magisterial sources. We aim to dispel myths and build understanding, offering readers a fresh vision of purgatory as a true gift of God’s mercy.
*
Catholicism Explained (#56; free online six-volume “book” available for free on my blog, consisting of 348 1000-word articles written for the National Catholic Register for almost nine years, from 29 September 2016 through to June 2025. It’s enough material for six 203-page volumes or more than 1218 pages total! This is in effect a complete, in-depth catechetical and apologetical explanation of the Catholic faith, or a sort of encyclopedia, written not for scholars but rather, for the common man seeking to better understand the Catholic faith and the rationales for why we believe what we believe.
